Hi there, We've got a few computers in the company I work in and I'm trying to see if they'd run Windows Vista Business SP1 ok or if they'd have to be upgraded. These computers would be used for Microsoft Office / Internet Explorer, nothing too fancy at all. Here are the specs : Desktop : Pentium 4 2.8Ghz Processor, 2Gb Ram, Onboard Video Card, 40-60Gb Hard Disk Laptop : Centrino ...

I recently upgraded my laptop from Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional.  I have been using it SUCCESSFULLY for about a month now, with only a few minor problems.  All of a sudden yesterday my screen went black and a pop-up appeared, saying that a "hardware change had been detected" and that I need to reactivate windows.  OK, so I pull out my retail purchased Windows 7 case and re-typed the ...

I want to do a straight upgrade and NOT have to worry about doing a custom install that will wipe my computer. Should I choose to upgrade to Windows 7 Home or 7 Professional? Thanks. I don't necessarily need the pro features, but I have a school discount that makes both of them the same price, so I don't know if one of them will do the regular upgrade or a custom install or what. 1 person ...

I know what you mean Delly, but it's more neccesity than company policy that's driving this. I can count on one finger the amount of times I've contacted Microsoft about Windows 2000 desktop issues, so that's not a concern for me. But come June / July next year there'll be no more patches for Windows 2000, and that's a bit more worrying. As is the fact that Windows 2000 only supports IE6 ...

If you have Vista Business you can only do an in place upgrade to Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, and you must stay at the same bit level - 32 or 64 bit. If you are running Windows Vista , in some cases you can upgrade directly to Windows 7 and in other cases you will need to perform a custom installation. The following table shows which editions of Windows Vista can be upgraded to ...

Yes, I have the same experience. The main shortage of Windows Vista/2008/7 disk management is that it cannot move partitions, so you have to delete a partition and use "Expand" feature to increase the partition size. Finally, I used another free third party partitioning software to resize partitions. You need not to delete partition and all operations are visully.
