Hi, I'm new to this forum. Recently, I have been wondering about how much K (the "K" from Windows Task Manager - Processes) my computer has. Because I Usually have about 100,000 K when Firefox is open with multiple tabs (which is almost all the time), and explorer.exe usually uses about 40,000 K, and MSN Messenger uses about 32,000. Although it doesn't seem like too much K, my computer still ...

Explorer.exe has a number of other processes associated with it. It's most likely a sub-process or application that's running in the background and taking all the CPU resources, which could be the cause of your PC running slow. To find and display what could be the problem try Process Explorer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.a spx SysInternals Forums: http...

Moving from Internetexplorer.general, "IE7 & IE8 slow".... When I go to Task Manager I'm running between 35-70% CPU usage even if no apps are open. If I open OLE or IE7/8 it pegs at 100% and stays there. Even if I do a complete shut-down and restart, let the system sit, go to WTM and programs are opening and closing like a fireworks...

Hello, First time on these forums - I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. I noticed that my laptop (HP Pavilion TX 2000 Notebook, 2.4 GHz AMD Turion) is always *working* on something. When I popped open the Windows Task Manager (for all users), I noticed having 14 different versions of svchost.exe. They belong to users SYSTEM, NETWORK SERVICE and LOCAL SERVICE, and use memory from ...

I'm running Windows XP 64-Bit Edition, this problem has started happening today. When I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete I get the Windows Security Dialog box, but when I click the Task Manager button, nothing happens. It first started happening earlier today. My machine was running slow so I brought up taskmgr to see if there was a process eating up resources. Task manager opened and then it ...

How to open task manager to networking tab from windows form application? My app downloads files from the internet asynchronously. I wanted to show the user the activity. I figured this is the easiest way.

You can also open task manager using following line Process.Start("taskmgr") But this code will not directly open networking tab. There must be some parameter for it.

Thank you, your post was very helpful. I went to the manufacturer's website, and found a page for my model. There was no new driver or update that could help me, but I put in an application to technical support there. They may know what the problem is! Also, it was nice to find out that I could stop my mouse/network adapter from waking my computer from sleep mode.. haha.. ^^
