Hi all! I am using Windows XP Pro and it is running extremely SLOW. I have shut down all apllications and it is still running extremely slow. I open the Windows Task Manager and the CPU Usage showing 100% of usage!! How can that be when I have closed all applications???? Does any of you know why Windows XP Pro or Hard Drive is running extremely slow? It took about 5-10 minutes to open up ...

The message verbatim is: "You have exceeded your profile storage space by 796,761kB.  You have to move files from yoiur profile to network or local storage."  I would like to fix this so that I do not have to end the process tree for proquota.exe in order to logoff. This problem is debris remaining from a major meltdown due to a virus which I removed by paying McAfee's virus removal service ...

What does all the tabs and stuff on Windows Task Manager mean? I understand the basics like applications and processes but what does the columns Mem. Usage and CPU mean? Also, I'm assuming the percentage that you see under the Performance tab is how much of the CPU power you're using. How is that calculated and how can you tell what CPU has more processing power than another CPU? Would you ...

This started today(i think). I had task manager opened but when I opened some applications they did not show up on the task manager (task manager did not refresh itself) I had to close and restart task manager to update it.

I am running IE8 on WIndows XP SP3, and when I open IE once, it opens 4-5 times in my task manager process list with the memory usage constantly increasing.  When I try to close the program, it is not responsive and I have to end the processes through task manager.  What could be the issue, and how do I fix it? 1 person needs an answer I do too
