I have a WHS Server with two computers currently connected to it. One computer is running Vista Home Premium and the other is running Windows 7 Ultimate. Even though both computers show the WHS server at 192.168.0.120, neither can connect to it. The WHS Server is shown when Network is selected, and is also shown connected to the D-Link 655 router on the NetworkMagic Diagram. I get error ...

Hi folks, Been runnng WHS for 6 months now with no issue. Running it on a vanilla Dell Box with a single 1TB drive. I just recently purchased a 2TB drive and added it to my storage pool using the console. Console shows 2.73TB total size and 1.45TB free. In explorer, my D drive shows total size of 911GB and 1.40TB free. Ran a chkdsk on the volume, but it didn't seem to help. If I check the ...

I'm planning on using my self-built WHS as a backup for my ATV library (currently hosted on my iMac). My first plan was to keep my couple 1-t drives attached to my iMac and copy the data to shares on my WHS. I've been thinking about this and realize I have a couple options. Should I do it as I described above or: 1. Add all the drives to my WHS and use WHS data duplication to keep two ...

I have a couple of Windows XP Home computers on my corporate LAN. On two of the machines, I have no trouble connecting to shared folders on the server. These computers remember the username and password and connect without prompting. Other Windows XP Home computers prompt me for the user name and password when I try to connect to the server. They remember the credentials ...

I have been running WHS for over a year now and agree it's an amazing product. I run it in a homebrew PC with leftover parts in a rack-mount case. The backups have saved my grapes at least 2-3 times. If you have more than a few PCs you will be upgrading to Windows 7 and or Office 2007, you will get a lot of value from a Technet Plus subscription. If you can find a coupon online ...
