Im running windows 7 beta. im having spyware/malware problems, and want to reformat (because i dont know how to fix or what to do) the entire hard drive. i cant open to the Microsoft management console: it says i need to be running IE 5.5. so ie must be corrupt. i cant install ie, because you cannot download it for win 7...just vista. i dont know how to format from the windows 7 or vista disc. ...

I had no problems whatsoever with Vista. I thought, and still think, it's a perfectly fine OS. I'm looking forward to installing Windows 7, though. I understand various folks have different experiences. I can only report my own. I'm not saying others didn't hate Vista. :shrug: Whatever works, dude. :)

@Auge Der PCWelt-Artikel "7 Gründe gegen Windows 7" hat aber schon etwas BILD-Niveau findest du nicht? Die Punkte sind so allgemein, dass sie auf jedes neue Windows-OS im Vergleich zu seinem jeweiligen Vorgänger angewendet werden kann. Der Grundtenor dieser Pseudo-Punkte lautet eigentlich "Never touch a running system", echte Gründe gegen Windows 7 sind das nicht.
