Hey there, i have a secondhand winch with no paperwork that i need to install and was wondering what amp fuse i should use for the powerline...not sure on how many amps it would draw while operated...i was thinking of using a fuse holder that you buy from Car Stereo outlets.. the winch is an IRONMAN unit rated to pull 4100kg any advice would be appreciated cheers GQMUDBASH

I have a xd9000 winch, it is quite a few years old. I pulled it apart the other day, and all the gearing looks good, no chipped teeth or anything, but the gaskets are practically gone, and the paint on the outside is half gone, the rest is peeling off. What can I do to restore this? I assume I can order the gaskets from ARB, but can I get it painted, or should I get it acid dipped or sand ...

Winch hook stay / keeper Anyone know of any winch hook "stay" or "keeper" that works in conjunction with hawse fairleads? I've seen keepers that hold the winch hook 90 degrees / flush to roller fairleads, but nada for the hawse fairleads. Thanks for the advice. Word

Got stuck in Lake Christy at Rausch Creek a few weeks ago and during the rescue, my winch control box got a little tweaked up. The cover cracked and the the plate got bent all up. just used my winch for the first time today. well, testing it out really. under heavy load my gauge drops into the red, quickly, and my light comes on telling me to check gauges. i need to know which way to go... more juice from an alternator, bigger battery, more batteries.... this is one of those things i want to fix before it breaks because when it breaks i'll be knee deep in mud. ...

What winch do you guys recommend for a 05 wrangler x. Thinking of adding one. Is a 8000 pounder to much also which has the longest cable? Also will one mount right to my stock bumber or do i know have a reason for a brush gaurd

I have been kicking around the idea for sometime now of getting a winch. I think I finally made up my mind on which one, the Superwinch EPi9.0S. I just don't know if these things draw to much power. Do you have to upgrade the alternator to have these function properly?

My Warn 8000 doesn't always engage in reverse. The solenoid works every time but the motor only works about one out of 10 tries. I wondered if anyone had any experience with this.
