We have a Windows 2003-64sp2 with 16GB memory running SQL2005-64 and when I open up the SSMS (or many of the other SQL tools/utilities), it take a very long time to open. There is no spike in CPU or memory on the server, but it just seems the GUI takes an extremely long time to open before I can use it. Any ideas on why it's so slow to respond? Or is there a particular set of ...

Hi guys, I would like to have a code where I can find if the end-user pc is win64 or win32 so that I can take the specific action on that. (which is, by the way, to add a path to environment variables after the instalation of matlab compiler, so that I can run my compiled matlab code as a subroutine in VBA). Also, is there a way to add a path to windows path (in environemtnt variables)...

Hi friends, I am a freshman and would like to compile a console tool. Can any compiler(VC++ or Intel C++ or GCC) make a "console application" which can run Freedos/Win32 consile/Win64 console altogether? Thanks.

Since the following article was posted, have there been any updates to the ..NET framework (any version) to support remote access to the Win64 registry from a managed app running on a Win32 system? We'd prefer to do this in managed code without having to resort to PInvoke calling native code that uses the KEY_WOW64_64KEY flag if possible....
