Win64 - Topic profile

We have a Windows 2003-64sp2 with 16GB memory running SQL2005-64 and when I open up the SSMS (or many of the other SQL tools/utilities), it take a very long time to open. There is no spike in CPU or memory on the server, but it just seems the GUI takes an extremely long time to open before I can use it. Any ideas on why it's so slow to respond? We'd prefer to do this in managed code without having to resort to PInvoke calling native code that uses the KEY_WOW64_64KEY flag if possible....

Excuse my naivete!   How to find whether my .NET application is running on Win32 on Win64? All that I know is my application is running on Windows XP Professional and .NET Framework 3.5!   BTW, what is the significance of Win32 and Win64 with respect to .NET, or for that matter Windows?   Thanks...
