I've seen movies on YouTube with a big, wide screen. How do they get that, is it HD or just the way you create the file for them to upload? Some of my flicks are HD, what options would one choose to export from FCP6?

What the HAM did they do this for? The computer monitor crapped out this week and as if having what might have been the h1n1 sw1n1 flu was not enough I had no computer to keep me company. That sucked. I was finally fever free today and ventured out of the house to get a replacement screen. First, the cost has come down quite a bit, not exactly giving them away but ...

If you are not used to watching squashed images on your LCD wide screen TV, you can now choose the option to display the programmes for wide screen LCD TV. There is an option on the Hubstation which which you can choose to change the setting. Once that is done, you get the full screen display in the correct aspect ratio of 16:9. So far, we have only spotted BBC NEWS and DW-TV broadcasting ...

I just bought an Insignia Blu-Ray player. The wireless Netflix is great. Regular DVD's play full screen 16/9 and the quality is out of this world. Blu-ray discs ? Bah ! Not as good as I expected. I also hate losing the top and bottom of the screen. Are all discs made in wide screen ?? What a rip off.

When ever I upload a video to yahoo videos it changes the video from a wide screen format to a normal TV type picture. This squashes up the detail and makes it look all weird. Is there anyway to stop this happening??

I'm hunting for a Canon PowerShot that has both a 3" screen and a viewfinder as well as a wide angle lens. Does such a model exist? I can find 2.5" versions, or versions with viewfinder and 3" missing the wide angle. Am I just missing it? Pointer to a model number would be appreciated. Thanks!

I can't really comment here 'cause I've been on a widescreen for the last few years. Not very wide -- just a couple of inches difference between height and width -- but it's what I'm used to. Anything else looks weird. And I refuse to let Jillian anywhere near my posts.

Well, I was thinking about it but once I saw your kitty I knew I had no hope of having the best putty-tat on the planet, which of course Lunky was. Besides, I blubbered and blubbered when Little Miss Lunkenstein passed away, I don't know if I can stand it again, what can I say, I'm a wuss. But yeah I probably should. What I need is one of those birds that lives a hundred years, or maybe a turtle,...

I guess you don't get out to the movies much, since the aspect ratio is the same in a movie theater as it is in Widescreen Blu-ray . You aren't "losing" the top and bottom parts of the screen. The image is staying faithful to the aspect ratio for theater viewing. Maybe your TV isn't up to par for playing Blu-ray . Upscaled DVD pales in comparison to Blu...
