Someone recently posted on my birth board about whole milk (our babies are 1 1/2 and most are drinking it). My daughter had all sorts of problems coming off of breast milk, and we eventually figured out that she is lactose intolorant. For some reason, the 2% Lactaid milk is the only thing that seems to agree with her. So, I'm wondering, what's the big deal about whole milk? I know it's ...

So, Ireland is 10 and a half months old and I just got the call that they need me back at work on Thursday. She has been exclusively breastfed, and never even took a bottle. So, my questions are: 1. When did you start transitioning to whole milk? 2. How did you make the transition? (Mixing milk with BM or formula? one cup a day..? ) 3. Was it a difficult emotional transition for your LO?...

Has anyone switched their LO's to 2% milk? I had read that the Academy of Pediatrics wasn't recommending whole milk for babies with a strong family history of heart disease. At his LOs 12 month appt. I discussed this with my ped and she wanted me to go ahead and do whole milk, she said maybe at 18 months we could swich him to 2%. Then at 18 months when I breought it back up she said no he ...

I am wondering when we should start making the transition to whole milk, and how to do it? Our LO is still on primarily formula, with some oatmeal, and some of whatever we are eating - but not much - and some puffs, cheerios, etc., snacks as need be. Also, is it JUST whole milk, or can we do Skim, 2%, etc.?? TIA!

With the prices of formula I will not be able to feed my infant. Then with an 800 calorie a day diet after the LO is born, I will not be able to breast feed on that many calories. I figure my little one needs me alive, so I better choose an alternate source of food. Milk is only $ 1.89 a gallon. But my question is this...... Whole milk or 2%? I mean, I don't want the baby to get too big too ...

I decided to make some butter even though I said I haven't been getting enough milk to separate for butter. So today I decided to try it with whole milk. Judy had said once that you could do it this way. I was skeptical, but you know what? It worked! I don't suppose a person without electricity could make it this way unless they had a lot of hands to volunteer to shake it in a jar for probably ...

Hello Mamas, My DD is 16 months and still on formula. When I try to switch her to whole milk, she gets very constipated. I just met her new pediatrician and asked about the switch to whole milk. The doctor said she needs to switch asap. When I asked why, she had no explanation for why milk is better than formula (I though formula was just unnecessary and expensive... but why the push to ...

I started my daughter on whole milk when she was about 12 months old - Horizon Organic DHA Omega-3 Vitamin D Ultra-pasteurized milk. I stopped breastfeeding when she was about 6 months old though. She was fed Enfamil.

Our pediatrician gave us a routine to try for our ds when he was 11 months. We would put it in a sippy cup. Once he could hold his own bottle we started giving him a sippy cup every other time he ate. It worked out perfectly. He stopped using a bottle all together by 1. 4 oz formula 2 oz whole milk for a month 3 oz formula 3 oz whole milk for 2 weeks 2 oz formula 4 oz whole milk for...

Our 2 youngest girls aren't ready to breed yet but it is going to be interesting when we milk 3 different breeds to see who gives the best milk for what. I have heard that the toggenberg milk is very different from the saanen. However Heidi is still a little on the small side to send off to the buck with Petal.

sweetened with agave nectar. The chocolate is very, very good. I think stevia hasn't found its way into many foods because of the aftertaste. Also,I wonder if stevia still has legal problems and has to be labeled as a supplement.
