I've never provided white noise for my girls. They are 7 months and the oldest STTN (6p-6a) while the youngest wakes once to eat, usually after 8 hours or so and will happily go back to sleep after a change and only 2-3 oz. What I'm wondering is if white noise has a chance of working if my girls have never even had it before? It is something certain babies like because they've always had it...

Is currently for sale at Walmart for either $19.88 or $19.98 (it's still in the car but I can confirm the price when I bring it in). I found it by the pharmacy along with the back massagers and hot water bottles. I believe this is the only time of the year you can usually find them so I thought I'd post.

I know we are a while away from feeding solids...we will be mid-January. Here is a link that lets you know when you can introduce certain foods and has sample menus for when you start solids. http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/index.htm I also found this one for those of you who use white noise...they even have MP3 downloads which are cheaper than the CDs. I am a big fan of white ...

Dh has asked for a white noise machine for Christmas -- you know, one of those things that plays nature sounds such as waves on the beach (or forest or babbling brook), etc. and helps you go to sleep if the room is too quiet or if you want to mask other noises. Of course, I want one that is well-made and has realisitic sounds, but I don't want to pay an exhorbitant price for it.

We are currently using the Conair Sound Therapy Machine with great success. We use the white noise button only. DH thinks I put the volume too loud and I think it's fine. So, how loud do you put yours? I know that it's a hard question to answer, but ours is loud enough that you can hear it outside her door. DH thinks it should be quite low, which I think defeats the purpose. He is ...

problem solved. Vernon at transfer case express is rigging me out a Hybrid 273 like lindsays but with a 32 spline input. From what him and trevor have told me these things are huge and can take a major whooping. All my electronics will be good to go.

I keep it quite loud but not soo loud that I can hear it well outside her door. It's probably a little louder than I would be comfortable sleeping with.

I too use the white noise since DS was little. When he was younger, the loud sound of the space heater as it came on didn't even bother him. Now as he's older, it will definitely be a distraction unless it's on all the times. I think they're much more aware of their surrounding as they're older. The purpose of white noise at this age will be most likely to drown out the noise happening outside ...

Yep my LO loovvves the tumble dryer and hairdryer. The hairdryer is great for when I have to do things upstairs, I just plonk him in his basket and turn it on (with me supervising obviously), he instantly stops grumbling!

Love our white noise machine. The Bumbo toilet trainer seems good for elimination communication, + but I think by the age most kids potty train they don't need all the contours. Not sure what the Sleep Sheep is.
