I'm trying to secure my Westell 327W.   I have tried resetting my router. Then logging on to 192.186.1.1. I enter the User name "admin" and the password "password". I'm then taken to this page  http://192.168.1.1/edit_user_settings.htm. I attempt to change the username and password, it asks if I'm sure I want to do that, I say yes. Then it takes me back again to the same page at  http://192....

Hi   I've been reading on a few forums about people setting up passthough VPN through the Westell and it failing but it works if setup as the DMZ host in the Westel.   Well, I think I have found the problem in the Westell!   I have exactly that problem.  If I connect my VPN enabled server as the DMZ, works fine.   Here is the rub...   If the VPN server is NOT the DMZ host, and you do ...

OK, I admit I have never setup a router.  I currently have the Westell 610015 Modem setup and working well.  Now I want to connect a wireless router for my other computer.  I have a TP-Link Wireless G router model TL-WR624G.   I have read that I will have to put the 6100 in bridge mode.   Will this router work? Suggestions on links for instructions on how I want to set this up? What's next...

I picked up the Verizon Branded Westell 7501 Wireless router.  Works great.  I like the software better then any of the the major brand wireless routers.  How do I use the USB port.  I assume it is for sharing peripherals but I don't see anything in the firmware other then if a device is connected or not.  I would like to share a printer on it if possible.  Does anyone have an idea on how to do ...

Has anyone at Verizon addressed the issue with the Westell 327W in that the security key is accessible to ANYONE that is on the network.  While home users may not be seen as priority number one in motivation to write a patch for the firmware - - small business users are indeed a group that is at high risk here.   Anyone that has a computer on the network may gain access to the security key and ...

Hi, my Westell 327W is currently using the firmware 04.04.03.00. I know there's an update available, but I have heard many times to avoid it like the plague because it screws it up. I like to keep everything up-to-date but I'm leery about it. Have you heard the same about it?  I'd be more than happy to leave as is, but I wonder why this update hasn't been fixed? Thanks for any help!!

We have Verizon DSL with a basic Westell modem, which supposedly is only a modem with no router capabilities.
