My friend's sister just got married and passed this tip onto me to save some $$ on the wedding cake. You can have a fake wedding cake! What she did was the bottom two layers were fake with just the top tiny layer being real (so they could cut it for picture purposes). Then they served regular sheet cakes to the rest of the guests. She's going to send me the contact info for the local ...

Just after I took this shot the internal mechanism in my macro lens broke. With that in mind and the fact that I no longer have a lens that focuses below 30cms, did I do a good job with the subject. And more importantly how can I improve on taking food shots again? farm3.static.flickr.com/2498/4134730330_463b0f5b13 _o.jpg

Hi, I am looking for someone to make a 3 tier sponge wedding cake for me. On a budget so needs to be reasonable and the person must have made them before please If you know anyone in the Hereford/Ross/Gloucester area please let me know! I am also open to getting one from a supermarket - has anyone else done this and what was it like?!?!? Thanks for your help.

My DJ partner's wedding cake. Go Figure. Nothing like a Technic SL-1200 turntable cake. What did the bride have to say about it? A picture is worth a thousand words

Hi- Does anyone have any recommendations for a wedding cake bakery that is in or willing to deliver to the Berkshires (near Pittsfield)? We'd consider using places in VT, Albany, Boston, Hartford, etc if they deliver. We're looking for something that is moderately priced (around 3-5 dollars a slice max) Thanks.

used camera raw to darken the image to bring out the detail in the cake. Opened in photoshop copied the original photo to a new layer masked out the cake. new layer for scratch repairs, removed the pole. used selective curves layers on the skin. removed the noise with noiseware and then added back just a little grain to the image.

I am lucky to have found them, and they are exceptional, but I'd like to think that I value them for qualities far more important than facility with apostrophes. Many members of New Haven's Italian-American community speak English as a second language, and their first language does not use apostrophes to indicate possession. Therefore, I would be reluctant to adjudge them "illiterate" for ...

Saint Honore Patisserie in Astoria (Ditmars and 35th) makes delicious cakes at a very reasonable price. I know that they make wedding cakes too. I have ordered their cakes many times and all of them were delicious. But I have never had their wedding cake.
