hya, quick question regarding the essays... the main essays, for supplement and common app. how strict are the guidelines (i mean, obviously it says not to make it shorter than 250 w, but that is not the problem) actually, my essays are probably too long, with 630 and 1000 words... but how much do i have to cut them down (i really feel they are good the way they are, but i don´t want them to ...

As long as the essays are using the lengths efficiently and are not unreasonably long, you have nothing to worry about. I've seen 2000+ word essays that were successful at top schools.
