Hi all, I have water flow problem upstairs now. It suddenly started about a week ago, and my wife started bugging me for this. The problem is if we use any of two water units (sink fausets, showers, or toilets etc.), water flow gets extreamly low. It never happened before and we never had problem with water pressure. I couldn't think of anything possibly causing this except that I turned ...

Could someone explain why the flow rate of hot water from a combi boiler to a tap open at a constant rate reduces as the water heats up?

Hi all, I just built and installed a " Skippy filter" and have a question. The filter has about 2 cuft. of floor scrub pads cut up and whole in it. I have 1" hose feeding it. How much water flow thru the filter should I have? I am assuming it shouldn't gush through it. My thinking is it should flow slowly through it to let the bacteria work once it is established. My flow now is about 2 ...

Hello, folks. I recently have problems with weak water flow on the second floor of my house. The problem is when I use any two water units(showers, toilets, sinks, etc) at the same time, it gets weak (low water flow). I never had this problem before. I thought main water flow get lower than earlier, however, it feels like the water pressure got stronger when I turn on only one water unit(...

1986 Force 125HP--I was getting little water flow and lots of steam the first time I had it on the water. Took off the lower unit, replaced the impeller, rest of pump and parts around it looked great. Still just spitting water. Took off the water plates on the engine to check for gunk--none there. Took off thermostat. Looked questionable so I tried running it with the thermostat out. The flow ...

I just replaced the 20 year old Price Pfister bathtub/shower stemset including the valve seats. They make a kit that contains hot and cold water stems, a diverter stem, 3 valve seats, new knobs, and some gaskets. I re-installed the kit using plumber's grease on the stem "gears'. When I turned the water main back on, there were no more leaks. I seemed to get good flow from the hot water ...

I have heard of some people turning down the flow at night, do any of you do this and should i? i could do it pretty easily with my controller, and i have always thought, "well the flow never stops in the ocean" but with the tides and such i ...

I am fairly sure that many taps do this - with consequent changes to the sound the water makes as it flows through them - even when fed by gravity. I know that I have ...

All of my 9.5 motors keep a steady water stream spittiing from the exhaust relief port when running on the water. They are easily overheated when running in a barrel if the water pump is not completely covered by water when the engine is started and while running. The trick is to immerse the gearcase all of the way to the midsection and to keep the water at that level. When running ...

I assume you meant that you were UNfamiliar. Here is a page describing the hows and whys of PRVs. Scroll down a bit and on the right hand side is a picture of a Direct Acting Valve, that is what you want to look for. It will be somewhere between the street shutoff and the first inside faucet connection. The usual place is right after the main shut off valve inside the house. http...

Quote: I was just not certain if there was anything that could be hurt if the pressure was more than what the pump normally provides. You need to watch the back pressure as your plumbing on the boat may be more of an issue than the A/C unit. Most boats are nominally 35 pounds on the standard hoses and clamps. If you turn the water on slow you'll ...
