Beaks here... No longer content to run their own comic book properties into the ground, 20th Century Fox is now out to destroy geek-friendly projects at other studios. And if you think I'm going to give you my unscholarly opinion on the Fox/WB dust-up over Who Controls The WATCHMEN... Like so many Watchmen fans, I am hoping for an amazing cinematic experience when I go to see this movie. The only way that I see this movie being great is if it keeps a lot of the storyline in it, and the only way for this to be possible is for it to keep its running time of approximately 3 hours. Please, all Watchmen fans who wish to have the movie maintain quality, sign this petition ...

UPDATED Fri Aug 15 2008 12:50:26 I saw "Watchmen." It's ucking astounding. The Non-Disclosure Agreement I signed prevents me from saying much, but I can spout the following with complete joygasmic enthusiasm: Snyder and Co. have pulled it off. Remember that feeling of watching "Sin City" on the big screen and being blown away by what a faithful translation of the source ...

Um, no. Not quite. ...

You also have to bear in mind that this film is starting with a couple strikes against it: It's very, very likely to end up R-Rated. R-Rated movies generally don't make as much as PG-13 films. The Fox lawsuit likely means that the WB is either going to end up splitting the profits, or paying a potentially lucrative out-of-court settlement...costs that will be added to the production ...
