OK, so this looks frippin boss : http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/ed...eidm=93&ese m=1 From Fantasy Flight games: quote: A new age is beginning. The winds of magic blow strongly, and the Old WorldĀs two moons shine brightly in the night sky. Storms appear out of nowhere, and the land is rife with conflict. From the north descend savage groups ...

Hola all. Massawyrm here. MAGIC: THE GATHERING SLIVERS! Wow is this a brutal little deck. While certainly not a tournament winner, SLIVERS, the latest deck from the Premium Deck Series is definitely a strong contender as a fun play deck. A five (yes FIVE) color deck loaded with nothing but Slivers and cards that aid slivers, the deck involves throwing out lots of low ...

I got some money in today but only have enough to pay for either Fantasy or 40k's starter sets. Both games look interesting. I've played the Dawn of War games and I've played Warhammer Online, those are the main reasons I'm looking into the two. I've decided to come on here and ask my new friends for some help. Are there any major differences between the two besides armies and setting? Which ...

Most of the warhammer fantasy games made so far have either been outright bad or just mediocre/lacklustre. If relic can make great games for 40k (Dawn of war 1-2) then maybe they should make the fantasy equivalent.

THREAD PREMISE #1: Warhammer as a setting isn't necessarily "gritty". It isn't. There are Griffon calvary charges against deamon hordes for Christ's sake. That's pretty darn high epic fantasy, which is the opposite of gritty. Playing a weak character is not the defining characteristic of warhammer. . . . . THREAD PRIMISE #2: The term "gritty" refers to the opposite of high...

I can't believe I missed this thread. Last time I brought it up in an RPG thread here it did not get very good response. For 60-100 bucks the set is reasonable, considering how much money and time/effort it takes to prepare and furnish your roleplaying group for a new game. D&D's starter sets aren't that far off for the essential 3 books and a set of dice, and that still doesn't have...

Yes, thanks for the review of WFP3. Sounds like it has some cool innovations and nuggets, but I have to be honest and say I come to such a game with a certain bias. Especially in this economy, finding a new way to charge *even more* for a base set of RPG rules is not just a bit annoying. The fact that there are only one set of maneuver cards and only 3 of 8 magic based classes ...

Fishmen. Sorry, sorry. There are often references to variant cultures in the Southlands. Degenerating lizard-men, human nations or tribes. I'd love to see some Solomon Kane style lost human civilizations pop up there.
