This is my year for learning how to walleye fish. The set up I'm planning includes a fluoro leader. Would I then use a No Knot Fas-Snap or similar to change out jigs? I've used them a few years ago but they were the smallest ones for pan fish. I didn't like them as they were too small for my sausage fingers. Any suggestions?

Had a bag or two of perch milk from last season in the freezer and I did not want it to go to waste. I had a couple walleye fillets and soaked them in the perch milk overnight. I then coated them with a seasoned flour mixture and deep fried to perfection. I live on Portage lake in Jackson county, I fish it more than I sleep. I've heard stories of walleye from a few people but have never hooked one. With ice fishing coming up, where the hell can I find the walleye?

We used Ole Panfish's mix and than dipped the 2 walleye fillet ( gees can't I catch more than one ) into Corn Flake crumbs and dried them in a iron skiller with a mixture of oil an butter, they got golden brown and crispy, I had to make a sandwich so I got a belly full, I just wish I could catch a CC style walleye. Woke up to a beautiful Sunday, the weather was great, air temp was 62 degrees, the water temp was 45.8, due to the nice weather I guess a lot of anglers were having the same idea as me, go walleye fishing. Might try to brave the cold temps for perch on Saturday. We have fished the Bay many times for walleye but haven't tried for perch out there yet. Any advice on location? I'm not sure if we should try the river or the bay? I have read that both have been pretty good. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just to let everyone know that Cox bait and tackle on Evon Rd. is open and they do have nice walleye minnows. I will be on the river today out of Lee St. Will post my results tonight. Good luck everyone and be safe out there!!
