Hello all, I have a WSS 2361 that will not serve up a custom portal page. The default page works without any problem, but users trying to load the custom page get a 404 file-not-found error on their browser. In the 2361 log I see this... WEBVIEW Sep 02 15:08:50.097003 ERROR WEBVIEW: web_create_html: Error in login page. Could not find action="" in the form. Client cannot perform a secure ...

Hi! I've discovered today that desktop user profiles for certain sharepoint users are being created on the server in the Documents and Settings folder. Only 50 have been created - a small portion of our user base; Every folder is being created with a WSS_AdminService.log file in it, which is approx 380 mb in size...its definitly starting to take its toll on storage space. I can't see any ...

Uranium is only $59. It wss over $100 as I remember. Nuclear plants take a long time to build no matter where they are built. Must be enough urnaium. They recycle a lot of it I think. I have found uranium an almost imossible metal to play. For me. There are so many problems connectd with investing in it the right way. And I do not even know what those problems are-lol I like coal. Nice ...

My company is currently using WSS 2.0 for their internal portal. Among other things we have a document library where we store customer order documents and it has about 50,000 files in it. I am in the process of getting ready to upgrade to WSS 3.0. I am currently testing the upgrade in a virtual environment and everything seems to have upgraded properly. The question I have is in regards to...

So, I "inherited" what appears to be a pretty standard WSS 3.0 install at my new job. Everything works perfectly except that about once a day, every web part on the page stops working and says "Web Part Error: This page has encountered a critical error". The event log shows an event ID of 6610: "Safe mode did not start successfully." An iisreset USUALLY fixes it, although it only works about 50% ...

Greetings to the most loyal collectors in the world!! In case you don't remember me, I am Cagney on Astro-Auction. About 20 months ago, I had to sell my entire collection to pay attorney fees in efforts to gain child custody of my two precious children due to a crushing divorce that occurred. My pain of selling my collection was my kids gain. I won custody!! Yeaaaaa!! They are living with me...

We are using SharePoint Services for our project. I've got many libraries and folders within those libraries. I want to set just one folder to Read Only access. How can I do it? Can I set up single docs or spreadsheets inside libraries with different permissions than the library where the file resides? Thanks for your help.

If you do have a genuine unsigned Young litho and don't intend to have it signed yourself I suggest you sell it at auction via Atro-Auction or eBay. I've seen unsigned examples fetch over $200. The unfortunate thing is that you've just missed the latest Novaspace signing. The Lovell litho would be worth more like $20-50 assuming there's a signing opportunity coming up.

Hi Lyle, I'm not sure what the cause of the error is. Maybe there are some parameters missing within the page you're using which is causing the error. I did encounter these problems too after upgrading You could try to use the original Nortel web-page and build you own within this page. The default page can be found in the WSS its directory. If there is none, you can retrieve the default ...

Mike, No we don't have a Project Server yet. Not sure if we are going that route but due to some confusion surrounding the requirements I thought the client was in need of something a bit different. I met with them yesterday to ask a few more questions and clear-up the confusion and what they needed was simply a Data View connected to the custom list of Project Objectives. I gave them a ...

A stand-alone install would put sql server, central admin, etc. on each server. Doing a server farm install, you can specify the role of each server. Basically if you want sharepoint and only have 1 server available, do a standalone, if your using more than one server, then you a server farm install.
