This question has been bugging me for awhile. As you know, in the WHOIS database, it lists your name, address, and other information for the owner of the site. Now I am pretty sure that google looks at this information when ranking sites. You know, if you have a bunch of backlinks from your other sites, google will see that their all register to the same person and giving it less authority to ...

Everything looks ok with WhoIs. DNS info updated yesterday so that probably means they're updating the site. This happened before, 'bout a month ago, when the English ver of the site came online; down several days before the site was updated (also because of a prob with the backbone to Asia. Many Chinese sites were down for a few days.)

The nl registry organization SIDN is going to hide privacy sensitive information in it's whois search results per 12 january 2010. The name and contact information will stay visible. Read more on the sidn site: SIDN - SIDN implements conclusions of 2008 Domain Name Debate Seems like a good idea to me. I never really liked the idea that my home address is visible for everyone. Maybe ...

I am looking to make a PHP script which extracts data from a domain WHOIS report. This is straight forward on UK domains but is there a website or api for other global domains? I would like to hear your suggestions on how I can do this.

Regular readers of this forum may be aware of the websites used by PPC's to try extort money from the general public, providing lots of false information. I've seen a number of redirects recently to PornRabbit.com. Looks like they may have bought some domains and 301'd the traffic? Is there something I'm missing? This is something that has hit my sites in the last few days. When I go to Whois on a few of them I see the PonRabbit front page showing.... Not making any accusations about them. Just seeking comment.
