Hi All my name is Shin Currently practicing Kendo in Auckland New Zealand. I always had this eargy to learn Jodan Waza and Katate WaZa ever since I saw Paul and Max of Nelson dojo doing gaiko in jodan. I thought it will be useful when I am in a situation to strike a man of one who is taller then me. I asked my sensi for Advise but unfortunately he didn't knew ...

I found this video where this old sensei seems to explain some points about some waza (yagyu shinkage ryu and itto ryu?). Someone could gently translate the general meanings of the video? (and, by the way, nobody knows who is the sensei?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvF-W...eature=rela ted

So I've kinda realized that I just like attacking a lot during keiko. im doing my best to think and create openings or exploit weaknesses but i still find myself quickly going for shots that arent even open. my question is, is there a waza out there that'll let me keep my aggressive style but not hinder me?

You missed Waza at girls u14 for State Cup. Hawks and Vardar are not near the team as Waza. I am sick and tired of the lack of respect you show the entire Waza organization. Hawks are going to learn a lot when this season is over. Waza rising!!!

You have overlooked Waza u14 for Girls State Cup. Far better than the untested Vardar team. I am so sick and tired of the lack of respect you people give the entire Waza Club. What do we have to do to get some attention. We are the best. Wazawooo

Hey ive been training with mike for a few years and im now a purple belt. His system is designed for a realistic seld defence system on the street- all of what the lads above said is basically true. His classes are great craic and (if you put in the effort) will have you sweating at the end of it. Pricewise its expensive, but you do get value for value for money (60euro @12 classes per mionth...

I won 3 matches. 1st match I won with suriage and then men. 2nd match was won with hiki men. 3rd and final match was won with gyaku kote from gedan kamae. Interesting thing was, even though i used kendo, fumikomi worked against me because of the tabi so I couldn't get the lunge and fumikomi so i had to take a bit of a wider and longer stance. It sort of helped but if you look in the video, ...
