Just name one movie, the best not a list. And don't say Avatar because it's not out yet so hold your horses lol. I'd have to say the first Transformers. Even though i really don't like the movie, the special effects are damn near flawless. The ones in part two showed more flaws but were still great.

My codirector and I have been filming a live-action film for the past year called 'James Vs Reality" that has a ton of visual effects in it. We both come from visual effects/animation backgrounds (you can see some stuff from my solo animation I'm also creating here http://www.vimeo.com/4268602 ) and have been creating the effects for the film ourselves, but we're hoping to get some extra help...
I have just started up a website providing free visual and special effects video tutorials. Have a look and see what you think. Feel free to comment, I would love to know what you think! :) http://www.effectsportal.net/ The tutorials include: http://www.effectsportal.net/index.php/greenscreen / How to make and key a greenscreen http://www.effectsportal.net/index.php/fake-blood/ How...

Visual Sound H2O Liquid Chorus & Echo and the Jekyll & Hyde Ultimate Overdrive. I also have the One Spot from Visual Sound which can power up to five effects at same time. The H2O is the same exact chorus that the guitar players from A7X use. If you want to see what the effects do or sound like go to www.visualsound.com I will sell both with the One Spot power supply for 155.00 ...

It isn't as simple as moving armatures around. Any idiot can move armatures or make a CGI character, this doesn't equal great visual effects. The point was that King Kong being made in 1933 alone was a miracle with new technologies needed to be created just to make the film. The jerkiness often looks like real movements. Animals in real life aren't static, they often change their movements....

Add three films with the best special effects/CGI to the LIST every post, you can only post ONCE a day... when we get to 100, add five to the Pit Stop, and 5 will be eliminated every round. When we get to 50, only add one film to the PIT STOP, and only one will be eliminated... DO NOT count franchises as a whole, even though sometimes the effects are similar... too much confusion [KEEP] LIST...

I read up about the 2012 prophecy. Quite chilling, but then again, fearing it would be stupid, because if it is true, there's nothing anyone can do about it. So... better excuse to lock yourself up and play until you die.

Speed Racer as a movie is only an average one but the picture quality is simply AMAZING! I just saw it on Blu-ray on a 52" HDTV and I gotta say it's a mind-blowing experience. I cannot describe how *beep* great this film looks. The PQ of Speed Racer puts to shame even the biggest blockbusters such as Transformers, Iron Man, TDK or G.I. Joe. And it's not that those movies looks crappy, au ...

One really has to wonder how much different the fILM would have been if ILM had worked on it. Would it have really made THAT much of a difference in the end? >>> As is, not really. It would have been prettier to look at and a few action scenes would have played out better. Nobody here is saying that Trek V as is would be saved by visual effects, but it sure would have been nice to not cringe ...
