Where can I find a temperature versus viscosity graph of different engine oil weights such as 0w30 and 10w30? I googled images and searched here but perhaps my searching skills are wanting. Thanks!!

I have never seen a measure of the viscosity or stickiness of a wine. I suppose it is a function of the alcohol and residual sugar but it would be nice to see a measure of it particularly for sweet wines to differentiate between sweet and thin an sweet and gloopy wines.

Could someone please tell me the recommended viscosity of the engine (Tecumseh) oil and auger gear case lube for a Simplicity 860 SE snowblower model #1691777. I am doing a favor for my neighbor and his operator's manual refers him to the engine manual which he does not have. Thanks in advance. Dave

I never use a viscosity cup but I guess I should. I know how I like to spray and I judge the viscosity of my lacquer by how fast it runs down the shaft of a large screwdriver. Not very scientific, but it works for me. I recently bought an HVLP with a turbine and the technique is slightly different largely because the "look" of the wet surface is different than in conventional spraying. I managed ...

I have an old Bogen Manfrotto 116 MK2 head that is too stiff for panning even when the drag adjustment ring is loosened all the way. Is there a way for me to decrease the viscosity of the "fluid" inside so the head will pan smoothly and easily?

What viscosity oil for drag racing a 351 ? NA I assume synthetic, but what weight? How about some input on which oil company you like? What brand oil filter?

I'm interested in switching to Shell Formula synthetic but my '04 Taurus ( runs good 28 mpg w/ 104K) calls for 5w-20 and the only synthetic I'm seeing in my wholesale club is 5w-30. With the synthetic is the difference in viscosity important enough to cause performance problems?

I'm bored so I decided to contribute to a sticky thread hopefully. Information contained are from a Haynes manual, I'm merely sharing the info with you guys and gals. Hopefully this clears up "noob" type questions too. Recommended lubricants and fluids: Engine oil-API certified Viscosity-10W-40 Fuel-91 octane minimum Automatic transaxle fluid-VW automatic tranny ...

Hi folks, I've noticed that some people refer to certain weights of oils as having a "tight" viscosity range, such as 5W-20: it only has to change by 15 between hot and cold. Others are less so, like a 10W-50, for example. That's all well and good in these examples, but what's the threshold? Is a 0W-20 a "tight" spread? It changes by 20, just like a 10W-30 does. How about a 5W-30, and so on? ...

Remove all Advertisements Dave or Russ or any others, I want to try this fluid in another application, but I need some info I can't pin down. First is how much $ in smaller quantities? Second and very important is a viscosity reference. Don't care if it is Cst referenced, or accurately compared to another fluid. This setup is super light ...

The upcoming tests will determine if the process can successfully reduce the thickness and viscosity of oil at the depth of the sandstone reservoirs present in Kern County. Kern County currently provides approximately 66% of all the oil produced in California, 10% of the total oil production in the entire United States, and about 1% of the total world oil production.

Russell Kidder, CEO of Advanced Clean Technologies, Inc. stated, “We know that our proprietary process can reduce the thickness and viscosity of oil at surface level and want to test its effectiveness in the actual oil recovery process. The current oil recovery method for this heavy oil is steam injection into the ground to heat the oil. If effective, our process could provide significant ...
