We are chartering a 48 ft. sailboat from St. Thomas the end Of Nov. we plan to moor the boat and I understand it may be rough to get to shore. Can you suggest a place to moor in and stay for the day?

There is a direct ferry from Red Hook on Thu and Sun, and since we will be at Sapphire Beach we thought it would work. Depending on how long you have the boat ... for the day: stop at The Baths and grab a mooring buoy. The Baths is not a good overnight anchorage. To stay overnight try the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour OR anchor out side in St. Thomas Bay. You have to use your anchor there. If you want to just tie up to a dock than VGYH is your best bet. I agree with saffie. The Baths are the major attraction on the island. If you would like to get away from the crowds and see similar topography, get a cab to take you to Spring Bay. If it is truly a small wedding then I would suggest renting something like Bellamare villa or Adagio Villa at Mahoe Bay - that would accomodate say 9 couples and provide for a relaxing and perfect wedding.
