Hi, we have Verizon HD connected to our TV in the basement, quite a way from the router. Can we hook the WII directly to the Verizon cable using a splitter? We have tried the wireless connection and the WII does not find the signal. Thanks.

Not quite sure where to out this, so here it is My wife and I are moving to a new townhome and the area has FIOS preinstalled. We are about 95% sure we are switching. Comcast in that area blows donkey balls. The area we are in right now has about 65 HD channels not including premiums. That area has about 25 If we switched, we would be getting the FIOS 25/15 Internet, Extreme HD TV ...

when I play HD (including 1080p quality) videos on youtube, it's fine, but sometimes it's slow. The problem goes back and forth and occurs not only on my wireless but also when I am connected with the cable. Is it just me, or is it because of youtube's server. Do other people have the same problem? Other than that, I'm happy with fios' speed. My youtube problem just has me wondering. ...

I am sure that I am not alone in saying that I genuinely despise overpaying for anything. I currently have two set-top-boxes (STB) that cost me $15.99 and $19.99 each per month, which adds up to a whopping $432 per year, excluding tax. Now let's assume that Verizon replaces my STB every 3 years, then I would have shelled out more than $1300 dollars to rent this equipment, which at the moment is...

I have a Gateway laptop running Vista, that will not connect to VERIZON FIOS router(ACTIONTEC). this laptop was able to connect to VERIZON FIOS until their router went bad.. they shipped a new router and now whenever you enter the encryption key, it does not take and it continues to ask for it.. the Verizon tech removed all wireless networks from the network center and the router was reset, ...

.....is the dogs danglers. As much as I'm really not a fan of Verizon for being an ebil, star trek borg like corporation with even worse customer service, this fios is good stuff. Just had it installed, getting 28mbps down, but probably even more impressive 14mbps up - and I didn't think my old cable was too bad, at 10mbps down and 1mbps up. Fios TV very good too - have to give them a ...

I recently got a new N Style Router/Wireless Modem to increase my wireless speed on my home wireless network for my XBox to be able to use the Netflix on that device. I have the Verizon Fios Std Modem ActionTec. Any guidance on how to make the connections between the devices? Or recommendations on the internal settings for the ActionTec as well as the Linksys? Should I turn off the ...

Were thinking of signing on with Fios. I've been using dsl for as long as I can remember, however there is a good deal going on with fios and if you get all 3 (phone, internet & tv) you will save money for getting the bundle. I am curious as to what is involved with the install. I don't think I will be home when the installers come, so I want to prepare in advance. Has anyone here gotten it ...

Not sure if the right forum, but it seemed like the best place for it. I have the newer, rounded model Verizon FIOS router. There is a USB port on the back and I was wondering if I could use that to somehow connect my WD HD to it so that I can use it wirelessly for Time Machine back-up. I would buy a Time Capsule or Airport Extreme, but the Verizon router is the central hub for my Internet, ...

via MacNN: Verizon teased the long-term future of its FiOS service today by confirming that it's the first to test a new form of passive fiber optic network that could dramatically increase the practical speeds of its Internet access. Called XG-PON, the test service has been shown running through a test FiOS home at up to 10Gbps downstream, or about four times faster than the existing 2....

I've had it for over a year. The video quality is top-notch. They certainly have the bandwidth to deliver. Internet speed has never been an issue. I don't have a home phone, so that part I can't comment on. I saved money going from Comcast to Fios somehow. Probably because my contract expired with comcast long ago. The one (big) con with Fios is that Verizon's customer service/support ...
