When I first installed the game, I adjusted the settings downward so the game would play smoothly even when the city was large. Now I no longer see trees on the map, no matter how high I put the vegetation meter. I also cannot plant trees---the option doesn't even appear in the menu, let alone appearing on the map. My computer has a ram of 3.0gb, so it isn't the 512mb ram ...
