Am purchasing new plinking rifle so letting this one go. As post says its a cz varmint 22lr, it has the heavy target barrel that is factory threaded and is v accurate and great fun to shoot. I would like some input on varmint rifles. I know there are some dedicated guns just for varmints but I have some problems with them. I am over 60 with nerve damage in my back and legs, I don't get as much time in the woods as I would like. I can't carry a 8 1/2 or a 9# rifle any more. Iv been thinking of getting a varmint/paper gun for some time now. I came across a Rem 700 sps varmint at the local Dick's sporting goods for $499. I dont think it has an x mark trigger like the vtr series does but it does have the same stock and has a heavy barrel. I just bought a 700 SPS in a 22-250 with the x mark pro trigger, i put a bell and carlson stock on it and a burris full field two scope. it will easily put a 5 shot group under .5 moa at a 100yards and i would say better than that with a better shooter behind the trigger. I am super happy with mine!! its the best shooting rifle i have.

I love my CZ's and would ne'er part with them. But, you should keep in mind that the CZ's use proprietary rings that I have yet to see for less than $40. Granted that's a one time investment, but it's still something to ponder. For me, regardless of the presence of rings- I would buy the CZ.
