Hello everyone, I'd like to replace my vacuum cleaner. I have no clue when it comes to this kind of thing! My current one is a Rowenta but I find it heavy and awkward and I need to go over the cat hair encrusted carpets (I know, I know, yuk indeed) multiple times to have much effect. I need one that: 1. Is efficient at getting rid of cat hair on carpets 2. Is light and easy to maneouvre 3...

Hi Girls! It's coming up to Christmas, and pretty high up on my list is a good vacuum cleaner. Also, we got it when we had no carpet, so now that we do have carpet and we're getting 2 puppies (rotties, so lots of nice black fur ...

How can I get our Bo (6 months old) to be less scared of the vacuum cleaner? She's pretty scared of it and tries to attack the mouthpiece if she gets the chance, while she's barking/yelping that really anxious kind of yelp that dogs give when they are attacked. I don't vacuum toward her, always away from her so the vacuum isn't going toward her. I hoped she'd just get used to the machine, but ...

We currently have an Oreck and it's doing an AWFUL job. So, I'm in the market for a new vacuum. Dyson gets good reviews...but they are very expensive, even the refurbished ones. I would buy one though if it did a good job and I knew it would last. Any recommendations? We have lots of yellow dog hair on our dark red rugs...

While I got the Dyson for the dog hair, my husband loves it for cleaning the cars! We also have a Hoover Windtunnel that I hate but keep for when I have a cleaning service at the house; they are not allowed to used the Dyson as I have never had a cleaning service that didn't break the vacuum.

Vacillator wrote: How do you get the fan off? I want to take off the large white plastic fan, It turns on the threaded shaft but won't come off. Should I just force it off ??? The fan is normally held in place by a nut & washer on the end of the shaft. If it can be rotated independently of the shaft, then it should just pull off. Some fans have a shaped hole to key the ...
