my rex rabbit has developed myomatosis very badly, even though he has had the required vaccinations as specified by the vet. I know this does occur as the vaccine is only 80% effective however this has been called the worst case she has ever seen by my veterinarian. He has had his face completely covered by myxomas, around his eyes, ears mouth and nose. He also has multiple (20 +) on each foot,...

My Mother in law has apparently for the last 3 days been getting a sore throat, aches all over her body and runny nose. The doctor came out to see her and said it could be swine flu but might not be. She prescribed her some co-codamol but no Tamiflu. What she did give other than the co-codamol however is the instructions to call the Doctors to make an appointment for them all to get the ...

I have an 8 month old Jack Russel Terrier who has not been vaccinated for lymes. He was bitten by a tick yesterday, and despite a thorough tick check, we missed one on his belly. I wasn't there for the removal, but my boyfriend said he saw a tiny tick surrounded by a dark blue/purple bruise on his white belly this morning, and had to dig (hard) to take it out. Any chance that the bruise is ...

Hello ladies and almost 3yr olds (wow, where's that time gone?!) Hope you're all well! I hear on the news now that the vaccination will be offered to the under 5's soon, so, what will you be doing? At the moment, we probably won't be getting Mason vaccinated until both DH and I feel it's been tested enough. I've not had it myself either and at nearly 34wks pregnant, I'm supposedly in an...

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I have read through the threads for brave Viola Rose and Autumn (RIP) and thought this might be the place to ask a few questions regarding myxo in vaccinated rabbits. All of my rabbits (except one who is on a different schedule) were vaccinated two months ago. One of them started showing signs of myxo by forming a lump on her ear. In the ...

Me again! I just wondered what everyone (well, those still in the UK!) is planning to do about the swine flu jab now that it's being offered to children between 6 months & 5 years? Are you planning to get your LO(s) vaccinated? Is your surgery offering it yet? Obviously, being in NZ, we won't get offered it at the moment. As far as I know, swine flu is keeping a low profile here at the ...

I think we all know that we should get vaccinated, but where are we supposed to find the vaccine? Maybe if we go to O'Hare, we can get a dose. Otherwise, we have to wait for the archaic method of production that the US drug companies use.
