Hi all, I had implemented on one of my shares vfs full_audit module. It was working with Samba 3.0.x without any problems. After migration to Samba 3.4.3 this function doesn't work anymore - when it's enabled then share isn't accessible from users (it's visible but getting error when trying to connect to it). Audit and extd_audit vfs's are working fine, but they doesn't meet...

procfs-style symlinks return a last_type of LAST_BIND without an actual path string. This causes __follow_link to skip calling __vfs_follow_link and so the dentry isn't revalidated. This is a problem when the link target sits on NFSv4 as it depends on the VFS to revalidate the dentry before using it on an open call. Ensure that this occurs by forcing a revalidation of the ...

Hello, I'm experimenting with Zabbix on Linux and having some difficulties with triggers on vfs.fs.size pused. I would like a trigger when a filesystem is filled for 80%. Now I get this trigger when a df shows 85% because of the 5% reserved blocks. Is there a workaround or patch so vfs.fs.size pused reads the same value as a df, ignoring the reserved blocks? Thanx

Hi, I am trying to schedule an appointment for my in-laws in Hindi, but not able to get it as the dates appear for very less time. I saw an appointment date today, but by the time I filled one form the dates were gone. I have read that we can save the application forms in vfs and just use them when booking the application. But I am not able to figure how to do that. Today even after filling ...

Hi Joel, Today's linux-next merge of the ocfs2 tree got a conflict in fs/ocfs2/file.c between commit 6b2f3d1f769be5779b479c37800229d9a4809fc3 ("vfs: Implement proper O_SYNC semantics") from Linus' tree and commit a8227ccc585025735bcf350f71fa9c1ffd005d8d ("ocfs2: Handle O_DIRECT when writing to a refcounted cluster") from the ocfs2 tree. I fixed it up (see below) and can ...

drm_ioctl is called with the Big Kernel Lock held, which shows up very high in statistics on vfs_ioctl. Moving the lock into the drm_ioctl function itself makes sure we blame the right subsystem and it gets us one step closer to eliminating the locked version of fops->ioctl. Since drm_ioctl does not require the lock itself, we only need to hold it while calling the specific...

I'm going to be the first one to admit I'm not 100% comfortable requesting this pull, but the window is going to (already did?) close and I want to put it out there. I've been waiting for the VFS merge since I knew I had conflicts with Al which couldn't be resolved already since the VFS tree didn't exist. These have been in linux-next for about 2 full cycles. They do 3 main ...

Tmem [PATCH 2/5] (Take 3): Implement cleancache on top of tmem layer. Hooks added to existing page cache, VFS, and FS (ext3, ocfs2, btrfs, and ext4 supported as of now) routines to: 1) create a tmem pool when filesystem is mounted and record its id 2) "put" clean pages that are being evicted 3) attempt to "get" pages prior to reading from a mounted FS and fallback to reading ...
