I recently borrowed my parents Vax 8000 Upright Carpet Cleaner. This is an old model and they bought it in 1994. I can't get the carpet cleaner aspect to work. Although the hoover works fine. When I turn the machine on it does not suck any water down to the tool. Any ideas why this would be the case? I am missing the Vax Sliding Plate which you slide over the tool at the start. I'm ...

I have been calling the ped. every couple days but they still haven't gotten their vax in. The school had it available yesterday so we went ahead and did it there. And it was free and only 10 min. away instead of almost an hour! On the down side, it is not the preservative free one, but they boys are 14 and 16 and so I just went for it.

Hi, I've searched this forum but I can't find any posts for pediatricians near my area. The closest I can find is in Cary but the office is about 40 minutes away. I'll drive it if I have to but if anyone knows of a non-vax friendly doctor in the Johnston County/Clayton/Garner/Fuquay Varina area it would be so appreciated. Thank you! Heather

Now that we're in a high risk group, my OB told me to get the regular flu vax and/or the H1N1 so I have to figure out how/where to do it. She threw in there that it should be "mercury free", which I am good with, provided I can find it that way. Called my regular doc today and they don't have any mercury free injections. Just trying to figure out what to do. So, what is everyone else doing?

I live in MN where conscientious exemptions exist. However, I know I want to vax for some things. I want as little vaxes as possible. We have an appt. On Wed. For one vax. I was thinking dtap. What would you do? Skip all vaxes, selectively vax? I need lots of help! My kiddos are 2 and 4.

Anyone have any recommendations for good anti-vax articles that might make a person reconsider her pro-vax stance? The article should be pretty scientific and reference recent studies that show either harm from vaxes or a lack of effectiveness. But then again, the article can't be too "out there" because the intended audience is hard-core pro-vax. Suggestions?

I got an email today with an article in it. The article sited this article  as one of its sources. These are true, actual stories. What do you think? Is it possible that the vax is the cause of all of these miscarriages? Or just coincidence?Â

I caved, sold out, chickened out, cowered, and got it. So far, so good. The doc is observing strict regs for who gets it....pregnant women, kids, people with other illnesses. She called and said I was on the list if I wanted it. You know how I feel about vaxes.....but I am absolutely, 100% certain that I will not survive H1N1 due to my COPD. The "mundane" flu last year just about did ...

I received the link to this in e-mail this morning. It would not allow me to cut and paste the actual phishing letter, just the advisory. FWIW... --- CDC has received reports of fraudulent emails (phishing) referencing a CDC sponsored State Vaccination Program. The messages request that users must create a personal H1N1 (swine flu) Vaccination Profile on the cdc.gov website. The ...

Did anyone (or their SO or family member) have side effects that started 24 hours or more after receiving the H1N1 vaccination? DH got it yesterday and was fine aside from arm pain. But this afternoon he started feeling unwell - nausea, chills, feverish, achy-ness, etc. so I'm trying to figure out if it's from the vaccination or if he's coming down with something - I'm worried about him...

How many of your well child appointments do you do? We selectively vax, and 8 month old DD is now only scheduled (by my schedule) to receive 3 more shots during her childhood, barring unforeseen circumstances. Right now, our insurance covers all her WBV's at 100%, so it's really no cost to us. I'm just wondering how often check-ups need to be for a healthy, largely unvaxed child.
