Hi All, Please find a patch that enables user-space breakpoints to be requested using the 'pid' of a process. The breakpoint request, thus received, is active over all threads of the process (all task_structs having the same 'tgid') and on any new threads that get spawned eventually. Given that the 'pid' of a process is more visible (than its task_struct), such an interface...

Here's a first look at the G13 driver I've been playing around with: git://g13.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/g13/g13 I've been building the driver out-of-tree and this is my first (untested) shot at moving it in-tree. There are still a number of things to do (and clean up) in the driver but it is rather functional. I'll test it later today and update the repo as necessary, but ...

In the X gate we've got a couple mdb dcmd modules for walking data structures in the X server. Right now the only way to get them is by building the tree for the version of the X server you need information from, which can be a pain. Is there a recommended practice for delivering mdb modules with the system that apply only to specific programs? I see some in /usr/lib/mdb/...

I am trying to scan files in user land when a file write happens to a USB drive. My FS filter is attached to the drive I am interested in. When I copy a file to the drive and capture the windbg log, I see that for every copy, post create() is invoked multiple times(and hence my scan engine). I see that the scanner sample reads the file and send a FltMessage only if the size of the file is ...

I am trying search memory in user space while debugging in kernel mode in WinDbg, and I cannot get the s command to work? If I debug the process locally in user mode then I can do `s –a 00400000 L4 “MZ”` and it will find the string. However, if I am debugging remotely in kernel mode this returns nothing. I tried changing the process...

Hi, I am currently writing a PCIe driver as a kernel module. And I want to map the PCI bords memory up too user-space with mmap. Can some one tell me if I first need to ioremap() the physical bus address into kernel virtual memory and then in the mmap function use remap_pfn_range(), or should the ioremap() be skipped and only remap_pfn_range() be used? Thanks for your help

Hello Tyym,   Thank you for posting.   As far as I know, we can take advantage of Storage Reports management in File Server Resource Manager to generate a report based on the demand to monitor a specific directory or disk usage. However, this File Server Resource Manager is included within Windows Server 2003 R2 or SBS 2003 R2. And it is not included with SBS ...

cPanel/WHM sometimes has problems with the user quota files causing all users accounts to have unlimited disk space available or 0 megs of disk space in use. This obviously confuses your customers and doesn’t give the real representation of the actual disk space being used by your clients. Common reasons for quota problems: - There are files owned by the same user elsewhere on the server ...
