Hi! Can anyone help me with the question of whether it is (or isn't) a good idea to use 99 octane super unleaded in the VW FSI and TSI family of engines? In 2003 and again in 2006 I purchased, new, a VW Polo 1.4FSI. I have used super unleaded exclusively in both cars (Shell Optimax originally; later Shell V-Power), the rationale being that a compression ratio of 12.0:1 would otherwise tend...

Hi i recently bought my new supra its a Supra NA 1995 J-spec. As i know in japan octane is higher so i am sure the ECU is programed to run higher octane. So i am wondering is it ok to put normal unleaded in the car or does it have to be superunleaded? will it damage the engine in the long term with normal 95 octane

The track here started selling VP 109 Unleaded Race Fuel. I was wondering if this would make a fuel to tune and run my race tune on. Trying to find an easier way then draining my tank for running leaded fuel. My race tune set up will be my Whipple 2.3 @ 20# of boost, and i'm fully built. What you think? Description According to VP Racing, Motorsport 109 produces more power than any other ...

I have a 2005 WRX which has been remapped to 283bhp (Scoobyclinic) and have ran it on Shell Optimax ever since. However, my local Shell was out of bounds on Monday and the fuel light came on so I had to put ?10 worth of Jet fuel in and the car ran absolutely fine. Later filled it up with BP Ultimate and the car has been running on that for the past few days. Just ...

You have mentioned before that the older Mercury motors (1984 and older)will not last long on unleaded fuel. I have a 1984 50hp that I have been running unleaded in for 3 years with no problems. Will there be signs it is getting ready to go or will it just decide one day that it has had enough? Thanks, Mike

I need a new can for unleaded and one for diesel preferably in the 5 gallon variety. Ive been eying some of the racing style cans that come with a clear plastic hose, not sure how these ...

Thought I'd give you guys another data point. My car is a stock 01 making 0.7 bar. Did some runs today on straight 91 octane and then added 5 gallons of trick 101 unleaded (97 R+M/2) for a mix of approx 94 octane. I tried to make the runs as consistent as possible, leaving at 3500 rpm with a clutch slip to full power and shifted at 6100 on the tach. All 60's were...

http://www.themotorreport.com.au/45...-unleaded-fu el/ Useless stuff!! So now you cant even run boats on 91ron. Leave it for more than a few weeks and it goes off and wont run! Sucks in moisture if you have less than a completely full tank it seems. I have a BMW dakar motorbike also that is recommended to not run on anything but 91, and I dont use it often, so how can I? ...
