Unfortunatly due to my job I have neither the time or place to do a full rebuild on my truck, so have the guys at arnakis unimog in Thessoloniki stripping the cab and chassie to make my truck like new. Some history for my truck for a start and then some pics of the rebuild to follow. The mog was ...

Hi All, We just want to get the word out that we have a 1984 Unimog U1300L DoKa ex-fire truck for sale with fast axles and a turbo-charged motor. The top speed is 70 mph. We have done a lot of work to vehicle since buying it. We modified the front bumper and added a front PTO and Werner winch. We modified the running boards to make them less bulky and add more ground clearance. Since this was ...

NICE. A Website. Herr Duwe has been busy. His UNIMOGS are well done, and although not as detailed as the plastic stuff, he gets the essence right, and they are things of beauty.

I'm just curious : How many of these things originally existed ? Is there either an existing MINT original example or a MINT restored example in the original Livery still around ?

Contact Ralph, he seems like the authority on the Lake Placid issue. When I bought mine from him he said (in addition to the one he was keeping) he knew of one other that was currently in operable condition. So that would make three. The cabs RULE! Lots of space. Hard to believe its a 406 compared to a 121 hard cab. Personally thought the light blue a bit obnoxious though...

It's called "torsion free". What's the downside of using an existing H frame compared to the classic unimog three point? added: To be clear I'm talking about the unimog made H frame. Not a custom built H frame.

At the recommendation of a former member of a baord that shall not be named, I've decided that you guys are a bit more my speed in terms of unimog ownership. Something to do with not trying to carve up perfectly good trucks to build franken-buggies. So the story goes a bit like this; local to me is a 1965 404.115 that appears to have lived a decent life before coming to america ...

Jay has had a lot more experience with on the edge offroading than I have but when I went to Moab with my blue mb494 that still has a case deck and at that point had a counter weight on it I was heading down a steep trail and my right front dropped in deep hole and I think would have rolled me over if I hadn't had the counter weight on, which is really low C of G weight. I could be wrong. I did...

Thanks for taking the time to explain. So think you saying you moved back further back on one side swinging it off the center line a small amount. Reel = spacer or washer? Can see this now in your pic more clearly now that you say this. what about alignment with the engine.. is'nt that now going to be a problem more so than it being centered on the axle?
