Hi all I'm planning to lay 55sq metres of reclaimed oak parquet onto a newly prepared screed floor. The floor has a hot water underfloor heating system which is working well, and the screed has dried out over 3 months (gradually turning up the heating). The parquet blocks have a fair amount of residual bitumen on them, which is very tricky to remove (infact, for this amount of flooring i'm...

good evening fans, Last year I had the misfortune to employ butch cassidy and the no glue kid to lay, install water underfloor heating and lay the tile floor. These pair put the pipes in and screeded over the top ,laying the tiles directly onto the wet screed. needless to say after a few weeks of having the heating on the tiles started lifting. having had no luck in getting them back in to ...

Hi All We are having underfloor heating downstairs in our new build, it will be run by a condensing oil boiler, it requires two manifolds. I do not know the differences in the systems/suppliers except for price , companys I have heard of are polytherm, wavin, quality plastics(Cork), Joule Solutions etc., most of these will only supply through a builders merchant. I am looking for information ...

All, Going to fit quick-step laminate flooring and am contemplating putting in electric underfloor heating. Which underlay would you recommend to go with this? Struggling to get a definitive answer on this. Want a good thickness to the underlay to cut down on the sound too. Should mention that the sub-floor is think wooden floorboards. Thank you

as far as i know the screed is only sand and cement. they laid the tiles straight onto the wet stuff . Within 2 months most of the tiles had lifted leaving a level floor albeit with ridges where the screed had come up between the tiles. The tiles are monocottura single fired red body, well that's what it says on the box. When the tiles where lifted up the floor appeared wet/damp underneath ...

Hi, We have electric underfloor heating under a wood floor and we also used 6mm depron sheet underay. Really easy to lay and seems to keep the noise down quite well! Lisa

Just one more question, What is the normal/best width to allow for expansion joints along perimeter walls for this screed. Also I have heard that its best to use aeroboard rather than foam insulation strips, the reason being that aeroboard is not as rigid and allows for more expansion. Is this true??
