I am trying to use import/export feature to import DB2 UDB v9.5 (Unix/Sun Solaris) data into SQL Server 2005 (Standard Edition). ODBC DSN is created using IBM DB2 driver v9.7. However, it is not fetching data in the preview and coming up with unidentified datatypes in data mapping window. Has anyone experience with DB2 data transfer? Signature Regards, MZeeshan

I am trying to setup a scheduled data transfer b/w SQL Server 2005 and IBM DB2 UDB v9.5 (Unix/Sun Solaris). I am using the latest IBM ODBC drivers v9.7 (used earlier version v8.1 but same result). The data transfer requirement will eventually be bi-directional although I am currently testing data import into SQL Server from DB2. One of my colleagues, a DB2 DBA, has helped me in setting up ...

Hello list, I am a mainframe programmer and we are testing IBM Rational Developer for System z (RDz) here. Currently I have DB2 PE Connect 8.2 installed on my PC to connect to mainframe tables and IBM Content Manager. I can't create any local databases using this version. So I would like to install DB2 Express-C 9.5 or 9.7 on my PC, create the SAMPLE database and complete the RDz exercises....

truepavan, without knowing your data or a sample (as sathyaram_s asked for), I can only guess. You may be able to use the LOCATE function to find the starting position of what you are looking for. Then you can use that as the second position of the SUBSTR function.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm using DB2 UDB via DBArtisan 8.0.1 What I forgot to mention earlier is that I want to output the counts/max/min in a table. Ex. ID | TBCreator| TableName | FieldName | DataType | RecordCount| ValueCount | UniqueCount | Max | Min I created a table that currently has: ID (Auto-number), TBCreator, TableName, FieldName, DataType. I'm assuming that I ...

Hi@all, I think my problem is very specific since I already spent some hours while looking for a solution to it. Im developing a service (C language) running on MS Windows and Sun Solaris which communicates with a IBM z/OS host. For performance reasons I had to integrate direct access to the DB2 instance running on the z/OS host using DB2 Connect and static SQL statements. This is already ...

My guess is that your environment is not set up. I use this in my .profile (provided by DB2 install, assuming your instance owner had a .profile when the instance is created) The following three lines have been added by UDB DB2. if -f /sqllib/db2profile ; then . /sqllib/db2profile fi If for some reason, you don't want it in the .profile you can source the ...
