I've got VS 2010 Beta 2 installed on a PC running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Every time I start VS 2010 I get a message from the UAC asking if its OK if devenv.exe changes settings on my PC. It doesn't happen on my laptop (W7 32Bit). Don't know if it's a 64bit issue or if something else is going on. Anyone got any ideas?

There has to be an easy way to do this. Not even MS could screw this up. I've got W7 Pro. My Gigabyte motherboard and my UPS need permanent permission to do their thing. If I have a power outage, as an example, and I'm not home, if the UAC pops up asking for permission to let my UPS change the system, then my pc is going to die a horrible death at the hands of UAC. There has to be a way ...

Vista's UAC offered the illusion of more security by forcing the user to provide input on every little thing the OS did; this prompted most people to senselessly click 'ok' just to get rid of it seeing as how the majority of the dialog boxes came from innocuous operations. In TF2, the chances that the item notification box contains a item you want (such as hats) are slim, and I believe ...

Hello, Is there any way to sign the NETLOGON script or something to make it stop triggering UAC prompts on Windows Vista and Windows 7 computers? I use NETLOGON to run regedit (to copy a part of the registry to a text file), which triggers an UAC prompt (which is also minimized on Windows 7), so it never gets executed on those clients. Any way to fix this? Thanks. LP, Jure

Out-of-the-box Windows 7 machines are still vulnerable to eight out of ten viruses, according to a test by security firm Sophos. The experiment proves that the improved User Access Control (UAC) features built into Windows 7 are not enough and that additional anti-virus protection is still required. In fairness to Redmond, Microsoft crystal clear that anti-virus remains a necessary add-on to ...

For some strange reason, the gadgets which require an internet connection (such as Weather and GMail checker) have stopped functioning. It seems that they are unable to connect to the internet. What could be the problem? I have disabled UAC but it worked for several days after I installed the OS. Please advise.

Every time I open Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, a message pops up that says "Preparing to install..." followed by "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007". A progress bar moves back and forth three times, and then the Office application opens. Sometimes UAC is triggered right before the application opens. This is really annoying, and really slows down ...

...disappearing after 3-4 seconds upon the execution. UAC turned off. Driver 195.39, 9800GT. Statistic server works (sits in the taskbar and the on-screen frame rate counter works in all games perfectly). I installed the recomended plugin during installation of the RivaT.
