If so then I have a problem at the other end. If not, is there a danger the tyres will blow out due to the air pressure in the hold being much lower at altitude? Might have to pack a pump. ...

I've going to fit my new steels with mud plugger tyres soon - two of them are brand new and 3 are worn but still have plenty of tread. There is a difference of about 10-40 mm from the new to the old. Would you fit the new ones on the rear and the worns on the front or the other way round? I was thinking it won't make much difference but would it feel weird to drive having the new ones with more ...

At the moment I have Insa Turbo Special Track tyres on the rear and AT on the front. I do a lot of estate work off road and the Insas are good. Now "winter" (the Met Office say we have a 50% chance of a mild winter ) is coming I would like to put a set of Insas on the front as well but don't know how they behave - different ride, harder steering etc. I know the grip "on road" is not too good ...

As a long time follower of F3, both in period and now, I'm interested in the development and evolution of the tyres used in period. It would appear that in the early years of the 1000cc Formula, Dunlop ruled until Firestone's YB11 compound appeared around 1968; is this correct? or were other manufactures interested? What happened when it rained? or didn't that happen in the sixties? Would...
