I am a high school student and I started playing in 4th grade (currently in my 7th year of playing.) I am looking to upgrade from my student model trumpet. I am considering purchasing this trumpet but I would like some feedback from people who know a little more about it. 1. Does anybody have one and is it a good horn? 2. It is even the right trumpet for me? Amazon.com: Cecilio ...

Can someone point me in the direction of a quality trumpet rental? I'm looking to rent a strad model 37 (long term). Does Dillons do rentals? I couldn't find anything on their site. Thanks.

Although DANCING WITH THE STARS was and is always a popularity contest and to this ol' Badboy always seemed a pretty cheezee'affair... "THAT SAD AND SAID"...RICK BAPTIST and his trumpet section really helped make that great gathering of musicians and singers bring home some outstanding and memorial peformances. I only wish that the network would have shown the musicians and singers more ...

A few friends and I just started a trumpet quartet for fun. We played the "Hall of Fame" by Ernest S. Williams the other day for our peers. Another piece we may try soon is Williams' "Bolero" for trumpet quartet. We also have a few trios to look at and an octet (if I can fool enough of my friends to give it a try) What other repertoire would anyone suggest for trumpet quartet (and friends ) ...

Hello. I've been playing baritone horn for two years now, and while I feel like I've reached a decent standard for someone of my age, trumpet has always been my favourite brass instrument. Before now I have never had an opportunity to play one, but the opportunity has arisen and I was wondering, is it difficult, if even possible to switch from something like baritone to a trumpet? Thanks...

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I recently acquired a Martin Indiana trumpet, from the mid 1960's according to the serial number. There is a 10 55 stamped on the end of the lead pipe, where the mouthpiece inserts. If anyone can advise me what those numbers represent, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

"Lip shape" effecting trumpet playing? Hello everyone, I've got a question surrounding something I read recently. At the moment I can't locate the source that I read this from, but essentially, the article claimed that a "Cupid's Bow" lip shape, where the upper lip points down in the center, is bad for trumpet playing, and the embouchure must be modified in order to effectively ...

Crestone trumpet Does anyone have any info to share on Crestone trumpets. An older gentleman has joined our community band and he has a Vintage Crestone trumpet. It was made in Western Germany pre 1954. We know it was pre 1954 because he still has the original receipt from when he bought it in Toronto. He paid $89 for it brand new. I'm guessing that was a lot of money back then....

I've been listening to an ambitious compilation of Dave Douglas' recent (all 21st century) work; I'm not thrilled but, then again, I am a conservative listener. On the other hand, the connoseurs of avant-garde jazz informed me that Dave is quite a conservative player (although he does occasionally play with the avant-guarde-minded musicians). Also, my internet research shows that some ...
