Remove all Advertisements Does anyone make a shift lever that isn't so far out from the toes that I can use for trail riding so it's more like an mx bike? Lifting my foot off the peg to change gears at 30 mph gets a little sketchy. For trials I would just swap it back to the longer version. Thanks.

Now that the time has changed I've been thinking about picking up a light to use to hit the trails at night. Ideally I'd get one for the bars and one for the helmet. This one has been discussed here previously and I am definitely considering it as my handlebar light: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149 But I was wondering if anyone has any information about ...

Hey guys, I only go trail riding a few times a year. Usually with other folks, so the times I might be without another vehicle are less frequent. I can't justify the expense of a quality winch so am thinking of getting a come-along for emergencies. Northern Tool has a 4-ton model for $40. What are your thoughts on this for basic winching?

So we rescued a Black Lab from the pound last week. He is 1.5 yr old and not very well trained. I took him up to the top of crack today and overall, he did very well actually. But I am looking for advice on how to train him to ride with me, or looking for recommendations on trainers that know how to train this stuff. Thank you

A friend of mine put together a nice little video with footage from a few of our rides in October in NY and NJ. Srublover and Keylow are also featured in the video. Enjoy! Oktoberfest from Ian Loew on Vimeo .

I've never been there, but I absolutely guarantee that the terrain pictured in the video is very difficult to ride, much more so than it appears. That is the reason so many are walking it. I have tried some similar (and, I'm sure 'easier') stuff in Moab, but I wouldn't even consider this. Way over my head. And I don't think putting a foot down is something one could rely...

I hope this is for your own private trails. I'm sick of people's dogs in the trail when I ride and it seems to be getting more and more popular. If I wanted to dodge dogs and and run over their sh!t I'd go ride at the local dog park.

Thanks guys. I bought the More Power Puller last night - got the strongest one they make. I will need to get a tow strap since the 20' cable may not be long enough to reach from a suitable tree to the truck. I say tow strap as I guess I don't want to use a come-along with a stretch/snatch strap, right?
