cyclocommuter writes "Some Toyota owners are up in arms as they suspect that accidents have been caused by some kind of glitch in the electronic computer system used in Toyotas that controls the throttle. Refusing to accept the explanation of Toyota and the federal government (it involves the driver's-side floor mat), hundreds of Toyota owners are in rebellion after a series of accidents caused ...

In the last few weeks the stories are increasing about Toyotas (including Lexus) suddenly deciding that they want to live life fast, real fast. And the poor drivers are powerless to rein them in. I just don't understand. Whether it is caused by a mis-positioned rubber floormat that catches the accelerator, or whether there is a very rare glitch in the drive-by-wire system, what about the ...

ABC is focusing on the runaway Toyotas. Why in the world did the drivers not turn them off rather than die? Stupid people being culled from the herd. Jeremiah Wright at The White House? Well, yes, but not THAT Jeremiah Wright.

This should make for a very interesting story on ABC but if ABC's story is true sudden acceleration is spooky as hell and something I would be very very concerned about regardless of who makes the car and I wouldn't what this information covered up and if it's found out to be true not good news for Toyota. I need a DEPENDABLE cheap small-ish 4x4 crew cab pickup to serve as family transportation as well as climbing Maine roads in winter and supporting carpentry/repair activities. Should I look for Ford 150s, Rangers, Toyotas or Nissans? What years would be best in the less than $6000. range? (I know this is a big question .....)

Jalopnik is all over this week's SEMA car show in Vegas, where Toyota and Microsoft are parading their crazy Tacoma All-Terrain Gamer concept. Four Xbox 360 Elites hooked-up to four swing-out 24-inch Samsung LCDs? Check. Energy drink dispenser? You betcha. http://gizmodo.com/5396015/toyotas-t...with-xbox-3 60s

So I have been a jeep guy for awhile now, my cherokee has been a great lightly modded rig, good for camping and mild wheeling. With the rust/rot starting to set in I've set out to find a new expo rig. I know nothing of toyotas, but I like them and have found one with the rite price(3k i have up to a 6k budget). It's a 99 with 150k on the clock, it's a sr5, 3.4, auto, fox welded rock sliders and...
