Can you fill me in on towing a bus with a towbar? What to do with the steering and the shifter during towing are my main questions. I've read posts about wiring up the input shaft, so I have a basic understanding of that, but I'm not above some friendly advice. (My one and only towing experience didn't go so well. I bolted a free RV toad style towbar to the bumper of a near free bus. On the ...

Just wondering how much a tow bar for a g6et would be roughly.. does $550 sound right?? Dealer said $550 for a genuine one, do they do non genuine? I haven't got the car yet, but I'll get the yard to put it on prior to pick up. Alllllso, when not in use, how does the bar part with ball removed look afterwards? Cannot find a pic anywhere...or will I have to put up with a big ugly lump ...

Witter tow bar for mk 4 Golf £15! Witter tow bar suit VW Golf 4. Second hand but perfectly usable. Includes tow ball and electrics, although they may need a bit of re-wiring etc when fitting. Here's the deal. I don't know exactly WHICH type of Golf this tow bar fitts. There are apparently three types, one for the hatchback, one...
I have a 2002 TD5 with what I think is the standard trailer socket (there's only 1, at least). On hooking up a new cycle rack only one of the brake lights comes on and depending how I waggle the plug other assorted lights come on but never all of them in the right way. It depends on the waggle of the plug as to whether the green trailer light comes on the dash with the indicators on. So, what ...

OK, now don't get too excited. I love my car and dread the thought of doing this but necessity dictates that I have to transport a bike or two from time to time and may also need to tow a little box trailer as well. Seeing that I don't have an X5 to perform these duties, the E46 will have to grin and bear it. So.... any ideas on solutions? If I can avoid putting a tow bar on there, ...

Right, stripped it all out today. Looks like a factory install lead and socket. Went back to the fuse box and checked the earths - all OK. Looks to me like it is the socket so I'll replace that first and splice it back into the Land Rover lead plugging in the lead below the RH Rear Light cluster. If that isn't it then I'll have another look at the earths. Thanks for your ideas.

Nice one! A pic would be cool too. Where abouts in Kent are you? My other half is from down that way so we may be down sometime soon. If not, her dad may be able to collect for us.

Hi all, thanks for the tips. The guy i bought it off did tell me he had kept the bolts but failed to mention or didn't know about the plates. I thought it would have bolted up directly. In hindsight a quick look under my truck would have confirmed that the fixing holes did not have any threads. Clint if you've still got the plates that would be great. I've ...
