Pair of shocks for late model Touring bike Again, clearing out the "parts bin", I came across something I forgot I had. Last year, I had the opportunity to pay a pile of OEM and after market Glide parts from a fellow who had sold his pair (his wife had a scoot too) of Electra-Glides. As I recall they were both 2005 ...

First off, I have no direct association with the seller. I have owned a Torelli in the past, and to date it is the finest bike I've ridden. That said, I came across this Torelli Gran Sasso Touring bike on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...E:B:SS:US:1 123 If I had the money, and it was my size, I'd do all I could to snag it. If someone is in the market for a fine 56 cm steel ...

I've always been told that cantilever brakes had the best mechanical advantage and thus were best equipped for loaded touring if properly adjusted. I recently ran into a guy touring the US on a LHT with his girlfriend. They both had LHTs. One had canti, the other V brakes. He swore up and down that he got better braking power with the V brake and ...

Several of the high-end steel touring bikes, i.e., the Miyata 2000, Specialized Expedition, and Centurion Pro Tour, came with internal wiring, from the top of the downtube to behind the bottom bracket. Does anyone actually use these for the generator they were intended to accomodate? Would this typically be the old style bottle generator? I ...

My shop is going to cater to commuters, tourists, and randonneurs (while including everything else...). What are some items that a shop MUST stock for tourists, aside from the obvious like tubes, TG/GatorSkin tires, ...

I recently bought an Aurora Elite 2009 touring bicycle. It has It has Shimano STI shift levers, a 10 speed 12- 27 cassette, a triple FSA 50/39/30 crankset and Shimano Ultegra GS rear derailer. The derailer has maximum sprocket size of 28T, maximum front difference of 22T and total capacity of 39T. My question is what is the easiest way of getting lower gearing with the setup I have? ...

well i'm from Egypt, and it seems like we have a different set of problems that we quite fear. Traffic for example is one of my last fears. You get used to it by time. I live in Cairo, and it's mad! i've been hit by cars before but well i'm still cycling! I have just did my first trip from Cairo and was supposed to end in Amman, Jordan. Most people were warning me about road thugs, and ...
