ASCE-7 (05) figure 6-9 gives two wind load cases with torsion (Case 2 and Case 4). What is the appropriate way to apply these cases to a flexible diaphragm? Adjust the load intensity to one side to achieve the required eccentricity, or just calculate torsional shears as if a rigid diaphragm? I used section 6.5.12.2.1 Rigid Buildings of All Heights (Figure 6-6) to determine my wind ...

Hi, My husband had a testicular torsion around 10 years ago which resulted in one testicle being removed. I have been trying to research this and some reserch says that fertility can be affected and some places say it is fine as long as one functioning testicle. I just wondered if anyone's been through anything similar with their partner and could offer any advise? ...

I've got a 74 narrow body with 16X7's all around. It will soon have a varioram in it. What do all recommend for sway and torsion bars. This will be a 100% street car. I've got a set of 28mm hollow rear torsion bars in a box in the garage that I could use. The car currently has carrera 3.2 sway bars. Thanks- Craig Backer

My garage door torsion spring just broke and I need to replace it. I have done some research on how to replace the spring. However I don't know where to buy the spring itself. I would appreciate if someone knows where I can buy one or knows a professional who they recommend changing the spring for a reasonable price. Thanks,

I tore down the rear of the chassis of my '51 tonight, and found one side with a spring plate that slipped off the end of the torsion spring easily, and the other side seems to be seized on there (spring plate to torsion spring, it came out of the chassis no problem). I tried pulling it off with a wheel puller, heated the crap out of it, rattled it with an air hammer, and it wouldn't budge....

Hey guys I am such a newb, but if you could spare a sec to help me ID these things that would be great! The thing with holes in it on top, (if I had to guess I would guess shock tower?) and this plate thing, covering the torsion bar? Its from a 67 bug, not that it matters much I suppose. I want to restore this rear end, sandblast/paint/new parts, etc. Thanks!...

Im doing a strait axle airbag setup on a splitty, to stop the airbags fighting the springs, what can i do? Im thinking that the torsion bars are mainly for springs and dont support the spring plates. Does anyone make some sort of replacement for the torsion bar for airbag suspension similar to the "derlin bushes" that airkelwd make for the front. I take it its not a good idea to run ...

Are these torsion bars any good? I think Ironman is an australian brand? I found some Ironman torsion bars which claim that they can yield 2" of lift. Can anybody tell me about the quality? how they compare to OME tbars?

Who has swapped out the torsio keys for one's that give more lift? What do you think of them? Took the Dak. for an alignment the other day and to have them adjust the bars, found out they are already maxxed out. Started talking to the guy about it and he suggested the keys, said he had done a few other installs with them and not had any problems.

Changed the timing belt on an '04 Jetta yesterday. Did it as Bentley suggested, turning the cam sprocket fully counterclockwise while installing the belt then cinching down the sprocket-to-hub bolts in the position that left it in. It ended up with the bolt heads sitting fairly far to the right in the elongated holes in the sprocket -- not in the middle of the holes, as it had been before. So in ...
