This is a QJR 217 3/8" drive 5 - 200 in/lb torque wrench. Used, but seems to be in excellent shape. No owner marks on it. Snap On says 265.00 for a new one. I am asking 100.00 + 10.00 (or less) for shipping Will ship to Canada/overseas but shipping will be more.

I'm looking into some of their torque wrenches and can't seem to figure out which is a better model? specifically, I'm interested in one that goes up to 400ft/lbs. I came across these models on their website. 730/65 part #50180065 730N/65 part#50181065 and finally, 730/80 part#50180080. Are these micrometer types or split-beam types? It seems the ...

I purchased a torque wrench today to tighten the lugs on my wheels to the factory spec of 103 ft/lbs. After getting the wrench home I realized I grabbed the wrong one as it only goes up to 100 ft/lbs. I dialed the torque up all the way and tightened everything and it seems secure. Maybe a dumb question though curious what people think... Is it worth returning the torque wrench over the ...

Electric torque wrench suggestions Christmas is right around the corner, so I'm hoping to acquire a good electric torque wrench from the Mrs. I'm basically looking for a quality piece of kit that works well at the track and will last for years. Anyone have any suggestions? ...

I already have a 1/2" drive, 20-150 ft-lb torque wrench. I'm now looking for a smaller one -- 3/8" drive, inch-lbs. A few thing's I'd like: I'd prefer one that is the "click" style. (When you get to the torque setting, the whole handle clicks.) I don't need/want a swing arm or digital model. I'd like middle-of-the-road recommendations..... I'm not looking for ...

I have read alot about measuring the torque of bolts, but what exactly is it? Do I just need 1, or do I have to buy a whole set? I went online to NAPA and seen different ones, which should I buy? Many of the ones I seen are expensive as fuck, think I only seen one in the 25 range

A very basic question (I hope) is there a "best" torque wrench spec for working on a Defender 110 (04 model). Any advice on what and best place to buy would be welcome. Cheers.

Hey everybody, Yesterday I embarked on the great challenge associated with the Miata: Changing the timing belt. I have a 1990, which of course means short nose crank, and after removing the accessory pulley and the crankshaft bolt, I noticed, the whole assembly was SPOTLESS! The keyway was pristine, the bolt looks identical to the new one I had ordered with my timing belt kit, and the whole ...

I don't have a torque wrench and am loath to buy one. I believe it's possible to measure the moment of force with a normal wrench with a certain pound force perpendicular at one foot from the end of the wrench. In practice, does anyone use this?

I have a set of Husky torque wrenches. Been pretty happy with them so far. I've been meaning to have them checked and adjusted since I've had them for about 3 years now.

Quote: You guys asking & answering these questions do know that you need 344 ft/lbs to torque the wheels? As for the pricing lets debate this.....You have a $100k car and you are going to skimp out on buying the correct tool (Snap-On 3/4" Drive $500.00 look on ebay it cost $200.00 to get it calibrated) to make sure that the $5k wheels don't fall off and ...

Growing up, cars were overbuilt in some respects. I only used torque wrenches when changing head gaskets. Most everything else could usually handle what you could put into it. You could crank down lug nuts to where it took almost super human effort to remove without warping the wheels but not anymore. Now things seem to be built just above what is required to actually function. I've had tire ...

Re: recommend me a torque wrench Here is something for you tool detectives to check out: I have a couple of Snap-on Tech Wrenches. There's no question that they are great tools. But to call them pricey is an understatement. I was reading a Griots Garage catalogue that just came in the mail, and they were selling a torque wrench...
