I'm in the process of pulling a 305 chevy engine thats oil filter loosened and lost all its oil at freeway speed. So the engine is in a seized condition. I've been happily disconnecting harnesses and hose when it suddenly occured to me that I have no idea how I'm going to be able to reach all three torque converter to flywheel bolts. Has anyone dealt with this before? Would pulling with ...

As the topic states I need one of these. I bought a car thinking the auto trans is blown, but it appears the torque converter is just bad since trans fluid is pouring out of it.

Here's what I'm thinking to do, and would like some criticism: According to the diagrams, the wire that feeds pin "F" of the ALDL connector ties directly into the wire from the ECM to the trans. The ECM grounds this wire to lock the torque converter. I want to tie a switch into that wire just behind the ALDL, so that a flip of the switch grounds the wire, thus "manually" locking the ...

11.38@121 at a recent track rental with the LOW STALL unit. Sometimes its difficult to make a choice with a new combination. The Billet Stator converter delivers and took all I threw at it. Over 500 WHP and 600 WTQ and the car still drives like a stock converter. Hands down this is the ONLY converter you need in your Lx or Jeep. Thanks for the GREAT JOB!!! A.J.

Background: 91 740T valve body / shimmed accumulator mod done by prev. owner. Past week started out as delayed shift 1-2, also jumps 2-1 when not far into 2nd if you apply much gas. Now the car dies when i slow down and it generally feels lumpy when it's running, trans feels weird but no grinding or clacking or any audibles. something is quite messed up- i don't understand how the trans when not...

I have my trans out at the moment and I was wondering how bad is the Torque converter bearing surface. 250,000kms never been repaced before. It's out of the car as I'm chaning the engine in the car. Here are some pics. The bently manual says is the hub is deeply scored then then the TC should be replaced but I've never mucked around with TC's before so I'm unsure. http...

Anybody out there had a trouble code of P0740 - which is Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction. Is this something easy to fix and is it expensive. This is on a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager and I am wondering if it would be worth fixing.

I have 30,700 miles and notice a shudder when accelerating slowly. Took it to the dealer and they told me that they need to replace the torque converter. Dealer ordered the converter and will get it install as soon as they receive it. First problem with this car, has been great up to this point. Oh, covered by the warranty.

Does anyone know if the fluid in the torque converter flows through to the transmission and vice versa? I'm guessing that it does but not sure. Joe : yes, and many say it comes back shortly after. To replace the torque converter they have to disconnect power to the ECM 'which some say fixes it" and change ALL the fluid as well "many say fixes it as well" Theres quite a few posts where the converter was changed, and fixed the problem for awhile but then it came back. I'm going to be doing a fluid change thanksgiving weekend. ...
