I am 31 years old and have had enlarged tonsils my entire life. As a kid, the dr recommended removing them, but for whatever reason, it never happened. I will get an infection every year or 2. They are so large that when they swell, it feels like my throat is closing - although it's not. I've heard that having tonsils removed as an adult can be very difficult for the patient. Is that true?...

Cryptic Tonsils? anyone?

Has anyone else been bothered with Cryptic Tonsils (where the white spots or rocks is embedded in your tonsils)? I have been told that there is nothing to do with them but remove them when they become smelly, and chronic....I relate it to the allergy injections, they say no way..... It's hard to believe they can't do some kind of procedure to keep them under control or have a solution other...

Has anyone else had to have their toddlers Tonsils & adenoids out? is it as bad and scary as it sounds and do you think you have made the right decision? My DDs are so large that she has trouble breathing & not gaining weight & constant runny nose. Thanks so much for your advice....

Have anyone of you who have taken allergy shots noticed an increase in tonsils becoming inflamed? I also have noticed that they are very smelly...and has a sticky whitish film on them....has anyone experienced this with tonsils? I am 52 and would think they would not bother me, my doctor also mentioned that adults don't do as well with getting their tonsils removed....anyone else heard this?...

hi the arch in the left side of my throat(where tonsils were) is swollen, its been like this for 8mths now! been to several docs and 2 dentists they dont seem concerned! its driving me crazy now and irratates like mad, anyone know what could be causing it? or anyone had the same problem? thanks

Well at last I saw a doctor who actually knew what to look for! He says she has a definite wheeze and needs her airways opened up, so she has to have an ventolin inhaler (like for asthma) She also has inflamed tonsils and a viral infection. He said the most important thing was to get her airways opened up, her tonsils should clear up on their own, just to keep an eye out for it ...
