Anyone try it? I was thinking of cooking the onions & garlic 1st on the stove. Then adding the tomatoes with the o&g in the crock pot for a few hrs. I cant see why it wouldnt work, but I dont have the time to make it twice if it gets ruined.

I make tomato sauce from Roma tomatoes that I grow in my garden. I add celery, carrots, peppers (hot and not), onions, and parsley that I also grow in my garden. I don't peel the tomatoes, which I understand can make the sauce bitter. I blend everything together in a blender and then cook it until it's quite thick. What can I add to this sauce to remove the bitterness? I don't want to peel the ...

http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/78491982.html A rare snowfall may hit South Louisiana tonight. I am going to stay warm by making a tomato sauce with ground beef and fresh Italian sausages. I like a chunky sauce with a lot of vegetables so I am going to chop up a couple of onions, one little bell pepper, and a little celery. Add several cloves of garlic to that and it's a start. I have ...

My roommate from university was Ukrainian and she used to make cabbage rolls with non-tomato sauce. From what I can remember, I think it was white-ish, translucent sauce. I remember it was really really good. I make cabbage rolls now with tomato sauce but I would really like to try the kind that she used to make. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Thanks!...

I may need some vodka soon, beer supply running low. Roads treacherous. My local grocery has these little(187ml)bottles of wine for $1.59. I use them exclusively for making sauces like this one. I am using something called Frontera from Chile, a cabernet sauvignon/merlot from the people at Concha y Toro. Very drinkable cheap wine. Tomato sauce just passed the two hour mark. Better. ...
