So another example of time travel in Star Trek was presented in TOS (Assignment: Earth) when they travelled back in time to the 1960's and accidentally changed events and spent the entire episode trying to resolve the problem. Well, they came to the conclusion that they didn't alter anything at all, because that accident had happened in their timeline and WAS supposed to happen... always ...

OK sorry if this has been discussed before, and it likely has... But in Trek XI a separate timeline or alternate reality is created when the Narada destroys the Kelvin and then ofcourse subsequent events with the destruction of Vulcan. But it really starts with the Kelvin destroyed. So Spock Prime can't travel forward in time back to the late 24th century because he would be returning to a ...

If you could travel back in time what would you do? Besides getting the Lotto numbers btw. I'd go to a Rory Gallagher gig. Going mad I missed him while he was alive. And I'd go for a pint with Jesus. I'd say he was a bit of craic in his day.

Okay lets say a Time Traveler & his buddy go back to the past to see an unsolved murder to see who the killer was. They decide to video tape the murder in action from a far to make sure no paradoxes happen. Now as the murder is done the time traveler & his buddy go back to the present with the tape. Wouldn't the tape they have mean that they are guilty of murder to seeing as they didn't stop it?...

Essay: The Brain: Time Travel in the Brain By Daniel Gilbert Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 What are you doing when you aren’t doing anything at all? If you said "nothing," then you have just passed a test in logic and flunked a test in neuroscience. When people perform mental tasks--adding numbers, comparing shapes, identifying faces--different areas of their brains become active, and brain scans ...

I am going to give write an essay about time travel. What does science say? What is the arguments for possibility and against possibility. And what does General Relativity Theory say about time travel? Theoretical possible, but not practically?

They basically can't co-exist. I'm not saying time travel exists, or could ever exist, but I would say the odds of Time Travel being real, are about the same as Christianity being real. They're both unproven theorys. So yeah, Let's take the classic story of Saul and Paul. Saul was a jerk. Then he went blind and turned into good guy Paul. When Paul died, I assume he went to heaven, forever. ...

Just wondering about the rules for Time Travel in the Stargate universe. Is it possible to come up with a theory that covers all the instances that we've seen so far? The theory that seems to fit best is the branching universe theory. When someone (or something) goes back in time the timeline is forked at the moment they arrive. Initially the two universes are the same with the exception of ...

In Physics class today we were learning about optics and how certain mediums can slow and bend light. At the end of class I asked my lecturer if it was theoretically possible to set up a mirror at so great a distance in so dense a medium that the image you would see when you looked into the mirror would be of you a significant amount of time in the past, and he said that yes, it was theoretically...

...because if time travel were ever going to be possible, it would have always been possible. So we'd already know about it (because time travellers from the future would have visited the past many times and time travel would be well documented throughout history). Surprising how rarely this rather obvious point is mentioned!
