Tiling backsplash questions Why the grout lines? Is it just aesthestic? In my old house, my brother in law used long white plastic strips to surround the tile edges? is it necessary or just for look? He also used a ceramic glue compound, instead of cement. I'm more inclined to do with the glue. Is there any drawbacks, ...

Hello, Main Question: I am looking for experienced 24 tablers to go through what their mindset is when tiling; what they are looking for; how to know when action is on a specific table, etc. My Background: The other forms of multi-tabling is pretty easy to me. I can do 60 DoNs at once. I don't have much of a win rate at it but its been done. 30-35 tabling STT is pretty ...

Hi all, Our next-door neighbours have been having a load of work done including re-tiling and flashing the porch type roof which goes over our 2 ground level ajoining bay windows. I was away when they did it but next door has said that the roofer has said he will come back and do our half for £250. We had always planned to do this job ourselves at at some point (as a few of the tiles...

We have a great tile guy who is almost done tiling our pool deck with quartzite tiles. The tile goes down just past the water line of the pool, and the rest is plaster. He asked me to lower the water level so he could re-plaster from the edge of the tile down about six inches. He did a small section first but the color didn't match the old plaster very well and I don't think it will look good....

Hi all - can anyone explain technically the pros and cons of using tileboard versus marine or wbp plywood as a) a wall lining for tiling and b) tiling support on small bathroom floors? There doesnt seem much cost difference (excepy wedi). For years before tiling boards became available, we only use ply. Even now, for tiling wet floors, we prefer double ply, with staggered joints. Secondly,...

Any tips on achieving a smooth crossover of sealant eg. in the shower corner where a vertical meets a horizontal run? I have mastered the straight runs, but have made a mess at the corner! Thanks Alan

Hi Everyone I'm just refreshing a kitchen and stripped it all back to find glued on lino flooring. Has taken a long while to manually scrape this stuff off and now I am left with bare concrete but there is a sheen of residual glue from the old lino. You could not scrape the glue layer off, it's so thin and transparent, but the surface is a little tacky. I remember a similar ...

Hello all, I hope one of you can help me out. I'm working on a composition in which the camera 'zooms' into a large tiled grid of the same object. At the moment, I have one composition (let's call it CompA) which contains animated vector art. Just some simple transformations. I then place this into a the final comp (CompB) and place a CC RepeTile effect on it. I adjust the effect to...

Hi, I had a look through forums for this, there was surprisingly little on this feature: I found a post from last year: "It is possible to get the Window menu by using a custom menu. However, it doesn't support being able to tile or navigate to specific tabs. I will add your request to our development database for consideration in a future version." I was looking for a feature like...

I'm going to be helping a family member install two tile floors in upstairs bathrooms. current flooring is vinyl over the existing floor/subfloor. We haven't yet pulled up the vinyl to assess the floor, although the house has been built within the past 5 years. In discussing the best adhesive/method for the floor, we've had some discussion about "proper" underlayment. My family member got an ...
