I for one am oiling up the thumbscrews for tomorrow! We'll see what they have for EXPH pps tomorrow...maybe they will give me more shares to stick under the pillow or chances are they will just pass me over and swap between each other to square up the books for Tuesday.... :) GeneO

-here's a photo of a valve spring compressor I built--thought somebody here might be interested in the concept. -there's two long 10-24 screws--and one thumbscrew that has a socket brazed into it. -the long screws are too close together to use two thumbscrews. -I machined holes thru the centers of two dedicated followers to get access to the keepers-----and use the outer edges of ...

I completely rebuilt my system that died three months ago today... new case and everything. I stumbled upon this CM case for cheap at the local Fry's, so I kind of jumped the gun. Everything worked... except for the thumbscrews that were supposed to secure my PCI cards... literally the threads were the wrong size or something. I ended up finding some other screws that came with the case that fit ...

This is a SWB grille for the 65 to 68.5 911/912. Nice shape with a few waves that are easily straightened. All studs are present. (I've replaced the 6 studs that were broken when I received it, with metric thumbscrews that I modded to work..thanks to somebody on Pelican or the Early S registry for that tip.) They look and work well. ) There is one small area of the mesh damaged, but it is minor. ...

Would nylon thumbscrews work well? (I'm a happy occasional customer of smallparts.com) I thought the smart branded items that went into those receptors had clips associated with them.

Thanks for the tips, Jim. The hold-down bar blocks the view of the shear blades on this model, but works OK. The shear still works without the hold-down, it's just more likely that the material will move as the cut is started. I haven't seen any creeping during the cut yet, but I'm sure it will occur with certain materials or thicknesses. I expect to try various materials placed in ...

QUOTE (Mooga @ Nov 29 2009, 01:18 AM) I haven't read the manifesto yet, so I don't have an opinion on it. Some of the language strikes me as somewhat self-dramatizing, though: It's like, come on, guys. No one's breaking out the thumbscrews. Please read it in its entiretly when you get a moment, Mooga.
