I am experiencing a problem on my 1990. After installing a new Moss Motors fuel pump the car fired right up, like it had been waiting for this moment it's whole life. It idle'd for about 1 minute fine, but when I tried to accelerate the motor there was no response from the pedal. I have ensured that the pedal, cable and butterfly are moving, what is not happening is the increased flow of air and ...

Ok this just started not to long ago, I'm at a stop light and it turns green I give it some gas and start letting up on the clutch and it acts like it is bogging down, Then sometimes when I am driving it acts like it ain't getting fuel and seems like it shuts off and then kicks back in. Is this the TPS or something else? I have a 97 Eclipse GST

Delayed throttle response Hi everyone, After fiddling with seats and tyres for my S16, I'm trying to work out this (fairly minor) issue I've been noticing for a while. There's a very regular delay between moving the throttle and having the engine respond. By regular I mean it's always there, whether I've just started it or been ...

Morning i have an 04 plate 225 which is a stock car apart from the Forge 007p diverter valve, my question is the throttle response is very how can i put it "sluggish" and very laboured on acceleration, then when you put your foot down then it picks up as normal, i have gone through the process of re-setting the throttle by turning the ignition on when the car is cold and waited a couple or 3 ...

First, I did a search but had trouble finding something related. Maybe I just wasn't doing it right but...hey.....I tried. Anyway, I'm looking to increase throttle response in my 09 wrx but am new to turbos and subies so am unsure where to begin. I'm looking to eliminate the complete lack of acceleration followed by turbo kick in at 3.5K RPMs. Any ideas? Would it be easiest to invest in ...

I just installed a new 4" BWoody CAI and I love the sounds it makes not to mention a slight increase in power. I did however notice a strange issue when getting on the pedal. If I'm in 2nd and then autoshift to 1st while stomping on the pedal the Jeep launches for 2 seconds and then there is a 1 second delay where it feels like fuel is cut to the engine. After the hesitation the fuel is ...

Crazy RPM and Throttle Response hey guys. i have a 97 lude sh that is acting pretty funny. initially, the rpm gauge was a lil jumpy in the 3000-3300 range and there was no loss of power. But it seems overnight the problem has accelerated and the rpm seems to go crazy(jumps up and down about 1000 rpms from where it should be) anywhere above ...

I am wondering if there is a way to adjust throttle response on a 1994 Accord V-tech. I don't want to mess with the idle. I have recently cleared up a hesitation and bucking issue by changing the distributor, cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. The car idles so nice now but when I step on the gas.. it thinks before it acts. I would really like the car to respond like it did years ago when it was peppy ...

Hello from a newbie! IÂ’m getting my car back tomorrow and IÂ’m beside myself with excitement. IÂ’m not after any particular figures (so you wonÂ’t insult me or anything) I just want a quick road car that has instant available power. So, a sporting wager .. what figures you reckon this will yeild; ItÂ’s a classic '99 JDM, vf29, 6 speed, helix ...

'90 DeVille, 30k miles. This morning the fuel indicator dropped under 3 gallons, and I decided to get gas on the way home. But on a freeway exit ramp, with the nose of the car pitched up a little, the throttle produced one of those omygod moments - no response. The car coasted another 100' or so, then the throttle was fine and I pulled away with no further problem. Phew! I filled the tank ...

The car starts and runs, so it sounds like you have spark, fuel, and air. If you car doesn't increase in throttle once the throttle body has opened up, it sounds like your car doesn't realize it's getting air beyond the IAC. I'd go with cleaning the TB as you planned. If you can take off the upstream O2 sensor and get a pressure gauge on there, anything significantly about 1.5psi and you ...

I would do it similar to Sam. I would lock the engine rpm at the desired rpm (several rpm tests could be done) then measure the torque gain vs time when the throttle is opened at a preset rate. You should note that turbo spool will be effected by turbine temperature so a couple of warm up runs should be done before the test. Roger

Most if not all drivability issues you experience are the result of your tuner. The only thing that can't be fixed with a competent tune is the limp mode that affects some of us. Osiris is great for N/A, but I don't trust it for stock block F/I. The stock ECU was never designed for F/I and lacks critical safety features.

Because its hunting (not steady revs) when you hold the revs up, for the first time ever I'm going to suggest that the oxy sensor might be to blame there. It may be adjusting fuels which will change the revs a little. As for responce. S16's that I have driven don't have brillient responce on the throttle anyway. I would look at the vacume operated intake switching system, make sure the ...

Scrappy, same thing happened to me.....right to redline! I thought it was just the throttle plate sticking. My hard cold starting might be caused by the PO poorly retrofitting a CIS engine into a 1972 coupe. The 72 doesn't have the cold start valve and wur electrical connects. I decided to pull the CIS to clean and test out of the car. Replacing all lines gaskets and potential leak ...
